Would you have been tempted to buy when the sp was 1.90 recently if you could have put it an isa, or did you think that was too high a price?

buzzby67, I just wondered why you suggest a possible 7p rise by ex divi date? Why 7p?

Vod on nasdaq up 2.3% .OK so I am so bullish (Bull ,perhaps) but I think a deal would be good. 2.20 by mid May would work for me!

I see citygroup has gone from neutral to buy, but has reduced its target price to 2.20. Perhaps just being more realistic? I wonder what a hybrid funded deal to buy Unitymedia might involve?

Unfortunately vod is down on the nasdaq today & the dow is currently 450 points down , so not looking good, but who knows?!

I think you understand rights issue's better than some, A rights issue will clearly dilute the sp, but not down to the the rights sp price. as ( I know it all, char ) suggests. somewhere in between i guess, depending on the rights issue ratio?

Who's complaining? Of course the recent falls, are disappointing, but last week was good & any who bought at �2, a week ago, are doing ok, so good luck to them. I'm very positive about the vod sp.

MONEYBAG I think 1.90 would be a bargain re entry point, but I hope they don't fall to that level. There seems to be good resistance at �2 at the moment. If I was buying I would buy now, but I havn't got the funds, so I'm just holding.

There is no rights issue, just Nige co, I think it was who said he thought there might be one in the future.

I don't know what rights issue's you are thinking of, but the whole point of a rights issue is that you have the right ( the clue is in the word right) to but shares at a discounted rate. Anybody can buy shares at the current sp, but a rights issue gives you the right to buy at a discount. Sorry char but you do sometimes give the impression that you are way out of you depth trying understand the stock market.

If there was a rights issue at 1.70, why would the sp fall to 1.70? If that was likely to happen then nobody would take up the rights issue. Assuming that vod is a sound company, (although the sp may fall someway towards the rights issue price),it is likely to stay above it, & possibly way above it if the money raised is used profitable by vod management, Most rights issues are set at above the real share value,to make sure investors take up the rights issue. If you like, you can give me your rights to the issue!!., Sometimes I think it is possible to sell your rights through a stock broker?

Sorry, but did you say it could take months to transfer an I S A to iweb? If so as I,ve already got a non I S A account with hargreaves, perhaps that would be a lot quicker?

Thanks a lot Mike & Gerry, I will have a look, hargreaves would charge me �90 a year for both I S A 's, max �45 each, so Iweb sounds good. The problem is I G was free, but then they changed the rules & now charge, so what's to stop Iweb doing the same in the future. It is free for me to transfer out of I G & I've got until June before they start to charge, so I suppose as long as Iweb don't charge to transfer out if they start charging for holding later on it would be worth moving to them.
