I think the vod sp was �3 about 20 years ago, but if you look at the historical chart on google,it shows an sp of 2.97 on 27/12/2013, but this is wrong, is was about 2.20 to 2.30. Some charts have been changed to try & allow for the verizon deal. The vod sp did hit 2.48 on 5/3/14. so the sp has performed badly since then, but about 10 years or so ago the sp fell to about �1,

I wonder if the moaning man is shorting vod & thinks he can affect the sp?

Thanks for your reply, I welcome any neg or poss comments for vod. The problem I have with your comments, is you are just saying that vod management is greedy. Of course they are, that's what its all about. vod is not a charity. If you are not greedy (wanting to make a profit) then don't invest in the stock market, give it all to charity! Just give me a break & stop having a pop at greedy management & also that naf lol!! You ,or me, are not that funny!

Why did you chose the vod share chat to have your moniman moans? If you want to have a pop at greedy corporate management, filling there pockets etc' then go elsewhere. Try the miserable gits got a chip on his shoulder moniman chat forum!

I hope you managed to top up before todays rise. Me, in the end I managed to put off �20k of my mortgage repayment after selling �32k worth at 2.08. .I just hate selling when the price falls for no good reason. I have managed though to move �40k worth into i s a's & was lucky to sell �32k worth at 2.08 & buy back �30k worth at 197.ish, originally to pay off my �30k mortgage, but now just 10k. that I need to sell on thursday. My i s a is with this site, london south east, after transfering from i g as they started to charge. london sth east are free for i s a & 9.95 dealing charge. I just hope they dont do what i g did, & start charging later.

You seem to have gone from positive to very negative (share price wise) in a few days, I do find you confusing at times, but always interested in your opinion! If the sp tomorrow fell to �1 , but paid a divi of 14% would that be good??!!

The current divi yield is over 6.5% for the year.

I got a 1 month extension on my 32k mortgage repayment until 16 may, but had to sell on 11 may in time for the funds to clear, although I didnt want to, but I was refused an extension to my mortgage, so lucky I did sell at 209, before the big fall. But when I tried to repay, I was offered a 2 month extension, so I bought back 20k worth at 199 into my i s a . & I may buy more into my wife's i s a. I intended to move vod shares into i s a anyway. By the way thanks for the advice for a good i s a, I thansfered from i g . because they started to charge. I was going to use the i s a you suggested, but ended up transfering to this site. london sth east, who have no charge for an i s a, & about �10 deal charge. I think (hope) the sp will hold up on Tuesday. I think the best way to get an idea of after hours trading is to look at the vod. nasdaq price, which closed at 28.85. If you divide by 10, then multiple by the $ to � exch rate, .74 you get about �2.13. A bit high, but it tends to be so.

I am generally a fan of google, but they totally lost the plot today with a price of 1.76 for vod after close. Its even shown on the iii graph.

I just looked up the sp on google & it said it was down 34p, I nearly had a heart attack. After checking elsewhere it was up 1.55p. But I still need a stiff drink to calm my nerves!

Well you are very generous, Me I'm more of a S.K.I. holiday investor,( Spend Kids Inheritance) & on the sliding sport holidays as well! Although I like the high divi, & hold a lot of vod shares, I'm still not sure that a high divi is good. What is the difference between paying a 6% divi & then the sp falls by 6% on ex divi day, or paying no divi, & then you just sell 6% of your shares & the sp stays the same? ok so you pay 10 to 15 pounds dealing costs, (not a lot) Before the divi tax change (now on �2000) a high divi made more sense so as to reduce cap gains.Of course if you have the lot in i s a's then its different.

I've got the same prob, but I thought it was my computer, so i'm pleased its not. I don't know where else to get the live sp other than logging in to my stockbroking account? Google vod sp can play up sometimes, so hopefully it will sought itself out in time.

I tried to find the times article, but could not. I found the post on adfvn, so that was just 2nd hand news & tried to open an account so I could ask the poster, but you have pay to sign up, so paying for 2nd news is a no no. Best to just ignore I think. Personally I think if vod reduced the dividend, & used the saving wisely, that would be a good thing, but unfortunately I don't think the market would agree with me, so I think the sp would fall, which I don't want, so hope there is no divi cut.

I think you are right! apparently Oscar doesn't approve of some of your negative predictions for the vod sp!

Dow down 550 , just hope vod sp won't follow on monday.
