Yes you are right... I do have the confidence in Alien (the more i read about the company etc. the greater my confidence), however, for the purpose of this BB I did not want to be seen to be (god forbid) 'ramping' the stock. The values i quoted and timescales are there basically to 'cover my arse'. More relevant to me right now is what my discretionary manager is doing to prepare for the 'Septic' elections, the soon to happen second nationwide lockdown, sorry fire-break, sorry circuit break, sorry... whatever (it just appalls me what is being done to the small and medium size businesses in this country). I expect he will do sweet FA yet again whilst pocketing £360 a month. He's going to have a shock coming to him soon...

It is certainly going to be interesting but what will be will be. There will be winners and losers whoever gets in. How will it affect Alien? The huge fiscal stimulus package that is going to be rolled out (I don't know whose package is bigger - Trump or Biden...maybe we need to ask Melania or Mrs Biden?!) but either the stimulus $$$ is going to be unprecedented. This can only further depress the US Dollar and this should see demand in PGM/Gold and Silver (and many other metals come to that) to push the prices of these commodities much higher. Conservatively I predict Gold at $2500/oz and Silver $50/oz. by the end of Q4 2021.

We also need to consider the effects of Covid-19 globally and specific to the UK/European theatre the never ending aga (debacle) that is BREXIT. I have my own thoughts and position on both Covid-19 and Brexit as I'm sure you all have too. All I'll say right now is keep a 'very open mind' about both subjects.

These are unique and turbulent times we are currently experiencing. However, all things pass in time and these events right now will pass too. As for me now to 'match' the current level of value on the stock I sold out to fund my Alien holding, requires Alien to reach a price of just over 3.5p. I am confident that in time and I'd like to think within a 6 month time frame Alien will at least hit this dizzy height! I know that some of you will think I'm being 'over conservative' in my prediction of price and time scale but I'm just trying not to set myself up for disappointment.

Good Luck with your bets on the US election... I remember a few years back being tempted to put £20 on a certain Mr Corbyn to be the next Labour leader. You could get 500/1 on that to happen. everybody said that there was no way he'd get elected. I took heed of this sentiment and so did not put the bet on. the lesson here is 'always trust your gut feeling (unless you've just had a Vindaloo of course...

I have 'Hold' as my opinion but in reality it is a 'Strong Buy'. So why didn't I declare it... well I do not wish to be seen as a 'ramper' or for that matter a 'de-ramper'. I've invested a modest amount in Alien... in two tranches - one tranche relatively low and one tranche about as high as you can get (!) Am I despondent, well the answer is a definite 'Yes'... and a 'No'. However, I am confident in the Board of Directors of Alien especially the CEO Brodie who I believe is one of those you rarely find is on the ball and somebody you would be prepared and inspired enough to go 'over the top with'. This confidence in the 'Leadership' alongside that of ALL the assets/projects Alien is involved with gives me confidence/reassurance in the medium and long term future of Alien. Maybe I am wrong but just think where a company like Alien could be in 5, 10, 15 and 20 years time. I realise it is difficult for some to imagine those time scales and I understand that... especially the younger you are. The histories of companies such as Alien often end in being taken over by one of the more established mining entities.. but you can still be part of that AND make a good profit out of it. Never be embarrassed by 'profit' or making money - 'Profit' does not make it bad... use that profit to invest further and make your life and that of your family that little bit better. Companies like Alien... and there are others - can take you out of your' rat-race' existence and give you the financial security that can last you a lifetime. Keep patient... don't be greedy... and when the time is right take a profit BUT do give this company some time to develop - give it a 'Chance'.

Dip666 & Hopscotch have mentioned some very pertinent points about the 'market' conditions right now and Alien sp in these conditions. The phrase 'batten down the hatches' is most appropriate right now. I have never experienced such volatility in the markets over a sustained period of time. I was working in London in 1992 when UK interest rates were raised twice in one trading day because of the ERM debacle... we can thank that kind benevolent Mr Soros for stirring the pot on that... So it was a volatile time but it settled down eventually... till the next financial crisis.

Hey ho... as investors it is what we've all signed up for. There are going to be some great days... and no doubt some 5hit days ahead of us. Just hang in there and 'Darken Ships' for a while.

Rainbow and all Investors! A very good preliminary set of Results and I think it will wake a few people up to the huge potential this company offers.

Pashman, I totally agree with your sentiment. Patience is the key. I just wish I had more funds available right now to invest here and in other stock. SWMBO gives me an occasional 'look' when I suggest raiding the savings to invest so unfortunately I am somewhat subdued. I do have pension investments which I am sorely tempted to take control of myself as my current DM is doing absolutely bugger all and charging me £350 a month to do that 'bugger all'!

...just come back in mid December... better still early January 2021. Have a gander at the sp then, you never know it might be in a much better position. Either way there is nothing you can do to alter what is going on. The mms will manipulate as they see fit but ultimately 'if' Alien are successful, make some money even, discover a huge gold deposit (that would be nice) then the sp WILL (all things being equal) rise significantly. By how much is anybody's guess but it should go up.

The best are entertaining but I feel they can be detrimental to the decision making of investors. If we're completely honest with ourselves we have probably all been guilty of making spur of the moment or rash decisions because of some data/info/gossip we've read on a BB or some such forum... well I know I have.

So my advice is relax and hold...oh and por yourself a large G&T ice, lemon whilst blasting ELO (or artist of your choice) through the speakers.

More good news from the BOD and confirmation of the Greenland area of interest. It is an acknowledgement of the 'potential' that Alien has in store for its investors. I am looking forward to news on new licences and projects.

I am very optimistic for some steady growth over the next 18-24 months and by the end of that time frame we should all have a much better idea of what Alien is and more importantly where it is heading. It is my sincere opinion that precious metals and base metals are going to have a very good few years ahead of them for a number of valid reasons. Buy your tickets and get on board for a very long term profitable ride.

For people new to AIM I am sure that you are aware it is a little more risky and volatile than say large cap stocks - especially in the short term. However, the upside of AIM is that occasionally the rewards can be life changing.. not always but if it was a gamble on this Friday's Euro Lottery or Alien to make my fortune...well I know where my money would be.

Great post Star Bright. You make a lot of valid points re the LSE Alien BB. I don't believe ramping or de-ramping is ethical but I suppose human nature being what it is it would be naive to suppose otherwise. either way I still don't like it. As for individuals having multiple accounts well that is totally out of order and there has to be a way this can be managed IF the will is there. Then I'm led to believe there are some posters who are apparently 'in the pay' of some group or another - quite extraordinary, outrageous really. Just my opinion of course.

Personally (and I'm sure I speak for the vast majority of investors here) when I decide to invest in a stock I carry out a little due diligence and ask myself a few questions.
Do I like the sector?
Do I have concerns about the localities/zones the company operates in?
Do the BoD give me confidence? Any CEO/CFO & CTOs will have profiles and history which can be investigated. What else have they been involved in? Good reputation or bad?
Check the company Annual/Interim results.. going back a few years if I have to.
Future prospects?
and lastly my 'gut feeling' about the company.

The bulletin boards on LSE, ADVFN et al are also excellent as star Bright says, for some 'well-informed and helpful posters'. To some degree I also like the boards for company gossip, info/intel and also other financial 'tips'. It is also a little light relief and a form of entertainment (crazy I know).

A great many AIM and main market stocks are driven by news and sentiment and Alien is definitely a news driven stock with sp greatly affected by sentiment. Add in the natural volatility of AIM and to be honest all markets right now (we live in strange and interesting times) and well it's going to be a roller coaster ride and not for the faint hearted. I like Alien and as has been said, "don't bet the house on this' but in my opinion it is certainly a good prospect for the future and I for one will be investing more in Alien when I get the opportunity.

i wish all investors here whether Day traders or Long Term Holders Good Luck and Good Fortune and above all Good Health. Let's all try and be a bit tolerant and forgiving of our fellow travellers here (it's quite a way to the moon apparently!)

..both the short term holder/Day-Trader and the Holder for the Long Term! Right now I prefer to play the longer game. I am suitably confident in Alien and it's future trajectory that I could quite happily forget about this company for 5 years and be able to return to it to see a very handsome rise in in share value. It might not be a strategy that gives you daily excitement in your life but your Cardiology Dept. will certainly appreciate it along with your blood pressure. Give me your thoughts on where you see Alien in 5 years time (just so as I have an idea what to expect when I rise from my slumber!)

Well I thought this was funny. Good to have a sense of humour when things are not going so well.

For anybody who is alarmed by the volatility I suggest getting away from the BBs...come back in a week. Better still make it 2 weeks. Either way there is nothing you can do to change the value of Alien shares... relax! The worst thing to do now is to sell in a panic and crystalize the loss. At the moment any losses are only on 'paper'...don't make those losses a reality. Sell only if you need to pay the mortgage (and you'll lose your home if you don't) or the mother in law has been taken for ransom...hang on let me think about that for a moment(!)

But seriously things will improve and you'll look back and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Right now a lot of mining stock will be showing red. Ironically I sold a large (for me) holding in Rainbow Rare Earths and they are slightly up. Worth a look for anybody interested in a high grade REE company.... but back to Alien - the deal with Capstone is a great start and shows that the Bod know what they are doing. It really is early days and you must look at this stock for the medium and long term. I know it is difficult for some to contemplate 3 to 5 years hence but to get the full benefit that is what you are at least looking at. If you want to 'Day Trade' then that is a different ball game entirely and comes with its own advantages and risks. Right now this is AIM. It is volatile... very volatile a 'gamble' for a better word but if you do your research and properly look at what a company has to offer then there are some gems out there right now.

You will win some and you'll lose some. It's ALL part of the game.

I have been avidly following Alien for a little while now, first attracted of all things by the unusual name and finding the UFO ticker quite funny. Invested at 0.60 and sold and made a nice little profit. Recently bought back in at 2.5 or so and I am currently sitting on a paper loss. Whilst this is disappointing I have full confidence in the company and the very experienced BoD. The basic company fundamentals are excellent (certainly for AIM) with in my opinion a very good long term outlook for both company and any shareholders.

The times we live in all bode well for the Mining sector - for many years in the doldrums but I think this is going to be a very good decade (or two). Basic commodities such as iron ore, copper, aluminium, tungsten, cobalt and nickel will be in much greater demand. These along with Rare Earth Elements will also become massive commodities with the Green Revolution as I like to call it. This 'revolution' will be as great a change as that of the Industrial Revolution of the 18C. and will provide many investing opportunities. Precious metals and minerals don't need any explanation from me but I think many people will view Gold, Silver and PGM as a very safe haven against a very volatile global finance and the practice of QE. Just think where the US Dollar will be in 5 years time (considering where it is rapidly currently heading) and you can see where the price of gold and silver will be over the same time scale.

Anyway just my thoughts for what they're worth. Alien for me will be a relatively long term hold along with most of the other stock I hold. Of course there is nothing wrong in taking a profit should the need or opportunity arise!

cadellin, a good point and we should be grateful for that but it's like everything in life the grass always looks greener the other side of the fence. I believe Rainbow is possibly a slow burn and one to put in the draw for a few years. Now I've said that they'll probably jump 50% on Monday...

Yesterday I sold just under 40% of my Rainbow holding. I thought that might at least cause the share price to go up, however, I think it is waiting until I sell out completely! But it will wait a long time as from now I will only be adding rather than selling. I wish we were 'more loved' right now... it is almost like we are 'sleeping'. Let's hope we eventually get kissed by a Prince and awake with great celebration and fanfare.

Is it Gin o'clock yet?

Biden is (or was) the bookies favourite to win with many polls indicating this to be the case. of course polls have been wrong before, very wrong in some cases. However, Rainbow could become the beneficiary with either candidate for the reasons NICO D mentioned. i do believe that a Democrat win will shake the US market severely and that some sort of significant correction could occur. This will have a major knock on effect for other major markets and so this, if it happens will probably adversely affect the likes of Rainbow etc. at least for a while till things settle down. The 'health event' and the global governmental response to it will be the issue to curb any market surge should Trump miraculously get elected again.

We live in 'interesting times' as our Chinese friends might wish us but personally I would prefer my life the way it was before Covid appeared.

As an aside to Rainbow... do have a look at Synairgen as a classic 'Covid-19' stock. Could be some interesting times there very soon.

Very interesting indeed. I have not read it in full so need to digest it fully (just got up after a night shift so still a little dozy!). There appears to be a pleasant little rise at the moment but I'm not sure the reason why. I sold out of Alien Metals about a week ago and I see today they are up 50+% so that has pleased me no end! But that's life....
