EOL - when i saw sp rocketing away, i regretted that i sold EOL a week or two back in my "cull" ..... however, the shares have retrenched by about 20p today which, in the light of no news, indicates mere profit-taking ...... i am almost inclined to call this a BUY without the "weak" prefix as i concur the share has legs.

MRP - i have only weakened my recommendation here because the price continues to spiral upwards and i have no idea where "fair value" should be set ..... i doubled my stake on Friday and am delighted that i did ..... i also think there is plenty of good news in the pipeline, but the faster a share rises, the geater the risk of a sharp correction.

GTL - I also think these are a strong buy and already have them in my portfolio, but i still would not put more than a fairlyb modest stake in here, or any other alternative energy company .... nothing is ever plain sailing, and a certain amount of prudence never came amiss.

GTL - that's a bit of a sweeping statement ...... nevertheless, ethanol is certainly ONE of the favoured alternatives to fossil fuels ...... it is worth noting that many cars in brazil are now made with the option of using either petrol or ethanol, the choice being the driver's on a daily basis

HML - imo, you are only right to sell (a) if you have no option or (b) if you do not believe the licencing deal will come to fruition ...... some peeps may be forced to sell, but do remember that the licencing deal was always forecast to take 3 months (perhaps a bit more) to conclude .... that takes you to mid June

PXC - sp has dropped nearly 10% this morning for no logical reason that i can think of - or have i missed something? ...... i know carphone warehouse are going to market phones with broadband capability, but would that be detrimental to Pipex? ...... certainly there seems to be no other news around On the basis that the fall is a nonsense, I again post STRONG BUY

i reckon it must be a 2 horse race between VOG and EME with RPT trailing in a bad 3rd ...... cloise call between VOG and EME as to which will come up with "jolly news" first

VOG - at the current price of 212/215, i think the downside is very limited ....... certainly a much better buy than RPT! ... lol!

IOT - back page of Sunday Times does not make encouraging reading for shareholders ..... suspect MMs will mark down the price sharply at the opening, but if not, looks like a good chance to make a decent profit on the bear tack.

yes peddler .... i think that is great idea but quite difficult to organise

i actually find the it is the symetry and sameness of all the crosses or stones in the memorial cemetries that is so moving, or the memorial crosses in small villages,especially some in France, where 5/6 members of the same family x 5/6 families all of whom died in 1st World War

Per ardua etc is the motto of the RAF and is not irregularly used in common parlance, so I don't really understand what or why you are trying to imply something distasteful..... However, I have enormous respect, not only for the victims of the 2nd World War (to which belong many of my family) but especially for those of the 1st ..... a visit to the memorial at Vimy is very sobering to say the least.

anyway, trust you all have a good w/e ..... as for me, i'm off to the theatre shortly and of course, golf course on sunday!

JKX - lookd in today's telegraph and no mention of JKX therein; just a brief one re GOC, as we all now know (lol!!) ..... from memory JKX has a p/e of only about 12 which as i said earlier is pretty undemanding ..... not sure if there was any real reason for today's surghe, welcome as it was ..... may well be peeps waking up to the fact that this looks a verfy good share to hjold, perhjaps for short-term gain, but almost certainly for the longer.

on your own admission, you don't even play .... from memory you said you found it far too frustrating and either broke your clubs or threw them in the lake like the character (i forget which) in the PG Wodehouse books .... and heaven forbid that i should be a shining light or even cast as a good example in any club or similar; would be most harmful to my (preferred) image
