CHP - for someone who is clearly a big cog in a big wheel, "sucker" or "little ben" sure manages to find enough enough time to write a load of inconsequential bilge ..... i always thought i was thje biggest arsehole round here, but will have to reflect as to whether i have been usurped from that position!
PXC - GedW - I agree UBS's stake of near enough 20% has a hint of rather more than just straightforward investment ..... However, you seem to contradict yourself in the last 2 sentences as to whether PXC is a potential predator or prey ..... my own view (worth little) is that PXC is still very much prey.
HML - i bought into this share at 4.15 just the other day, so am certainly pretty happy with its performance ....... the problem is knowing its worth (a) with the potential of a deal in USA, (b) if that potential is realised and (c) if all falls on its face ..... there are also a number of weak holders still around who dived in when sp was rocketing 7/10 days ago and who may well be looking to sell into a rally rather than hold on to see if the deal crystalises in +/-3 months
BES - i am afraid winning medals at (self-congratulatory) fairs means zilch to sp .... whether or not BES is a good investment on fundamentals is another matter, and i really have no idea on that
PXC - apart from the very strong set of figures, unless i am much mistraken, it is actually the tie up with Intel re wi-max that is actually even more important ..... all this in itself bodes well for sp on basic fundamentals, but there is also the hidden prospect of a possible t/o later in the year
but i did think positively, especially after tonight's offering of WONDERFUL ribs of beef + 1990 Volnay .... lol! ..... even played quite good golf today (what a boring old fart!)
wind was certainly blowing earlier today, both meteorologically and also thanks to last night's mashed parsnips!
DGM - On Friday, AM posted ".... Affiliates are jumping ship as we speak," implying in the same post that VOD was one of those jumping ..... A few minutes later, he writes that he didn't jmean VOD were actually leaving DGM but had also signed with another company ...... all totally different ..... he know says, like a little boy, "I've got a secret, I've got a secret", but declines to divulge it ...... basically AM, at the moment you comes across as a loat of shit, so please put up or shut up.
FAO - i hold none of these ..... being a cynic, i would revert to the adage that bad figures take longer to add up than good .... that said, the delay is only a few days, so maybe there is good news that has just come in ... or perhaps bad!
DGM - AM and BWP - please cut out the slanging match; unlike advfn, we like to help each other on this site. AM - certainly your initial post implied that Vodaphone had jumped ship from DGM ..... I take it this is not so ...... In that case, why the opinion of "Strong Sell" as it seems to me that the last signal of interest was the figures on 13th March, since when sp has slipped slightly but no more than that ..... If you had inside info on the state of play with the alleged suitors, that might be different. Your further constructive comment might be useful
CHP - i too continue to hold quite a number, but it is quite likely that the price will drop back to 10/12 and just conceivably 8, purely through inertia rather than bad news.
feel more like opening a vein than a bottle today! ..... ah well; (very) painful as last week has been, my stake at 5/4/05 is now 3x what it was, so i really shouldn't gripe, though i shall
CER - having taken a lioberal bath in blood this week, i deemed it prudent to reduce my market exposure ..... almost without exception, those that i culled have moved ahead, especially CER, of which i have been a long time fan ..... no idea why the move i am afraid
DGM - this stock has got very dull indeed ...... is there really any point in staying in here .... or ..... how much more time do these alleged suitors have before they must formally declare interest or otherwise?
do not understand your post today re GGA .... please enlighten
PTY - phew! at least greed cannot even start to tempt me in here as far too small for cfd ..... question is not so much as can the company be saved as whether it is worth saving in any case
TIO (+ ENK) - well Mr GedW, you liked ENK a lot, and though that has fallen back, it is probably a good long-term punt ..... in the same vein, i think you ought to take a good look at TIO, which i think has very good prospects, espcially in the longer term
BLR - sory m8 but i really cannot get excited about heavy oils ...... didn't do me any good getting excited about lighter oils n BUR either!!!!
CHP - I am sure you are a brilliant readr of the tealeaves so that you always buy at the bottom, sell at the top and never make a wrong call ...... if so, i am amazed you haven't bought a football club ... lol!
HML - to GedW - you tend to be pretty good on these things, so have you got a reasonably logical price in mind on the basis that some "good" deal will actually materialise - quite short odds on that, i would have thought? On the basis of something that was written several days ago, i would have thought 12/14p was a reasonable target, but you may have other ideas
