GedW - it no news that it's not news, but it is still good publicity and will raise the average investor's awareness etc etc

SCO - i read the positive stuff too, but have yet to make up my mind ..... however, with the placement at 1.25p, there should be some reasonable underpinning ...... and have the night to dwell on it all

SCO - not sure of my view on this (makes a change!) ..... trading is normally about 4.3 million, but 72 million today ...... trading statement was pretty bullish BUT, to flesh out what GedW has already mentioned, "Scotty Group added that results are expected to show a pre-tax loss in the region of £2.3m after goodwill amortisation, on turnover of £2.6m." ..... that's not pretty reading!

BES - thanks chan; i saw it and have now bought ...... i am sure there were good reasons for sp halving over the last few months, but they are not apparent, and now there is this latest bullish trading statement, sp must at worst be firmly underpinned .... whether or not bes are truly a potential t/o target is rather open to question.

MRP - you are right about (often) selling just before the news breaks .... lots of recent examples of this ..... however, now that the frosts have cleared, i think mrp will have a few good announcements over the coming weeks and months ...... and gas at the moment is probably even more sexy than oil (certainly a damn sight more so than heavy oil - viz blr!)

PXC - i have lots of these now, but (a) was very surprised at the worse than muted respjse to the figures etc and (b) though the price is now creeping up again, volumes remain low

MRP - though i am a great believer in the inability to lose money if one sells while ahead, my own view is that selling now may be premature, but then i have been something of a fan of this company for a few months

BES - chan - this news is certainly more exciting than the fact that Blavod won a bit of tin at a trade shown ....... am puzzled that there has not been a more enthusiastic reception.

MRP - I had them, sold them in the "cull" and bought them back a couple of days ago

fine wine + nominee ..... would not dream of allowing you to pay for my dinner, but concur it would be a lot of fun to get a group of like-minded peeps, with or without partners, for the occasional convivial evening ...... tarzanhey and i are actually doing just that this evening. As for fine wines as a vehicle for investment, my own opinion is don't bother! ..... far too difficult to get the right wines and right vintages, on top of which, you will be paying the middleman when you buy and commission and God knows what when you sell ..... buy to drink and enjoy and just possibly sell some if you find you have too much when it is passing its peak. By the way, 2005 is touted as being one of the greatest, but i fear the opening prices will be too ridiculous for words.

FAO - figures are now announced and can be found on oilbarrel.com ....... personally i don't see the attaction of this stock

CRX - i am not a holder here .... typical reaction to good results; whack the sp! ..... if there are followers of this stock, this must surely be a good buying opportunity

CSR - i am so glad i held onto these ...... shares have jumped today on reports that a bluetooth i-pod is being developed, which should/would mean the use of CSR's chip technology ..... in addition, there is Sony's Playstation3 to be released (at last!) in November, and of course this is just a damn good company!

DOO - i agree with you ... lots of good reasons to be invested in this sector and this company

HML - patients of any kind will do! ... lol!

BFC - following up your earlier post on ALK, i agree that BFC is financially a bit wobbly, but at least they are now in production and have the hidden value of being a potential t/o target ..... DOO looked in December and quickly walked away, but i wonder if they will back
