TIO - i could easily be tempted to take a profit at 80p!

TIO - so much to read, and now too late, but given that the shares are being issued to allow expansion of the business, the reception may well be similar to that accorded to VOG (i think)when they placed a significant number of shares at, from memory, 78p against a prevailing market price of 100+ ..... look at the share strength since.

TIO - had not seen that, but thanks ...... my holding is relatively modest so i shall probably stay put ..... not sure .... perhaps sell and buy again later may be better

TIO - i have bought these as a long-term investment, for though they have known assets (i.e. they are not just digging in hope!), production is not due to start for another 15 months or so ...... I admit i was drawn to TIO on the basis that it is backed/sponsored by Peter Hambro of POG, who of course has a very long, well-earned and enviable reputation in Russia and its mining projects

SCR - my main caveat is a general one about all hard metals, other than perhaps gold ..... i was/am a great fan of CER, but sold out of those about 10 days ago, since when, they have gone from strength to strength ..... TIO is worth a look, and for gold, i like POG and more speculatively, CEY

If the scenario looks that bad, then cut your losses NOW ,...... as an alternative, i still think PXC is ridiculously oversold, and have even bought more yesterday evening and again just now

SCR - no one would disagree with that sentiment, but that is something of a U-turn to what you were posting earlier

SCR - put your money where you like .... however, be very aware that there is a very real danger of an overexpanded bubble in both copper (in particular) and thus in mining stocks - have a look at the performance of KAZ in the last week and ask yourself why ....... SCR may or may not be the best thing since sliced bread, but how much hope-factor is already in sp? ...... Also, just because SCR will shortly start producing (i take your word for it), it does not mean that their copper will turn the company into gold ...... but you may of course be totally correct and my scepticism, borne or experience in dealing in F/E, may be totally unfounded.

SBE is almost certainly a very good company etc etc, but other than having a common denominator in oil, what on earth is the parallel with Burren (BUR) ...... They operate at almost opposite ends of the globe! If you want to make a comparison, what are say the respective P/Es?

SCR - teamonster - you state, ".... the country consuming most of the world's copper and stainless steel (Molybdenum) at present" ..... this is hogwash! ..... As it stands, world demand for copper is pretty static, with China increasing its demand and other areas decreasing, partly through usage of copper alternatives .... as for stainless steel ..... well i've never read such nonsense. Where sp for SCR will be in a year's time is anyone's guess, and not necessarily higher than today, for there are far far too many imponderables, not least that this is a JV in China where the rules can mysteriously change overnight. SCR may well be a good GAMBLE but at the moment it is no more than that

if specifically in fossil fuel alternatives, then DOO and BFC are worth looking at ...... if other sectors, then my first choices at the moment would be VOG, EME (i think with a little trepidation) and PXC (probably for longer term)

PXC - i see the price briefly spiked to 9.5 at that time, but then did not recover to that level again until November, since when it has trended upwards with just the usual and inevitable dips

PXC - am amazed that Page 72 was not older than Aug 2005 ..... confess to being something of a "johnny come lately" with these ..... bought a few more just before close at 12.25 but think i may buy again in the morning if price is no higher (have taken out some money/profits on HML)

CHP - though i still hold a slice of these (was much more), i think PXC is probably a better bet for a share of similar price ..... see today's postings there

PXC - are tv programmes of that sort really researched and produced within say 1 or even 2 weeks? ...... i would have thought it took at least a month and if a deliberate attempt to sabotage Pipex by association, would surely have required a leak of the deal of some magnitude ...... or am i totally naive as well as cynical???
