ENK - i assume you feel that the issue at 35p wikll prvide a floor to the sp ..... unfortunately, at least today, the market seems less than ethusiastic, though whether that is just general market ennui or more fundamental i don't know ..... it may also be that nickel itself has fallen back over recent weeks, though i confess i haven't checked
CHP - lots of 1000 shares are worth £170 each .... waste of time having that small a number, as it will have cost at least as much in dealing costs! ...... the fundamentals have not changed for the worse, and arguably are now better insofar it is now know that the company has some decent prospective sites
HML - you may have been joking; i wasn't! ..... it is all too easy to fall into the tra[p of tryinmg to catch the falling knife, and all too often, it is done on emotion rather than logic, so that one ends up getting worse injuries than already inflicted. i too had hope to buy at 4p or even a little ubnder, but settled for 4.15 when i saw the price creeping back up .... so far so good
PXC - despite the good press comment and observations about possible t/o, sp has slipped back today ..... if you are not already on board, you could far worse than put some money here ..... i already have a big enough holding, or would have considered topping up further
UKB - got a write-up as a BUY over w/e in Sunday Times or saturday's Telegraph ...... sp up a few coppers this morning but now drifting off .... have taken my profit on the basis that the arrival of tomorrow's figures will be insufficient to support this higher price. May consider getting back in after some consolidation and/or strong trading statement or similar
HML - in my own case, i had no previous holding ..... having followed this share and everyone's comments for the last week, i came to the conclusion that current fair price was about 4p, and posted s much ...... therefore for buy at that price was no leap of faith as far as i am concerned
CHP - sp is now holding very steady at about 18 mid ..... my guess is that most, but not all, short-term holders are now just about out ..... there may still be some drift during the day, but that could signal a buying opportunity
CHP / ULT - the correlation with ULT is not really fair, for as so often, timing is everything ..... i was lucky enough to get into ULT when they were previously +/-2p and took a useful profit on part when they surged on their annoucement ..... In fact, those alert or lucky enough could have made a similar play on ELP (won't beat my drum about that company!). Whether or not CHP is a steal at THIS level is hard to judge, though as already posted, i don't think there is too much downside ... or at least not until they drill a couple of dud wells!
CHP - the company may not have got exactly what it wanted, but they would not seem to have got shafted either .... all in all, i think they are pretty happy with the result, and in time, there are reasonable or even good expectations that they will bring home the bacon ...... however, there is never anything certain in the oil/mining biz until you start producing - elp was a bitter example of tbis for many ...... nevertheless, sp has not been hyped and i do not expect much downward pressure from the current level .... it is then a personal choice as to whether or not one wants to hold for the longer term
CHP - so we got the announcement, and the sellers piled in, to the extent that 6 million have already been traded this morning ..... i confess i had hoped for a stronger performance on the back of the announcement, though i suspect sp will now for a pretty solid floor at 16/17 ..... on that basis, there is an argument for holding on for further news or selling some/all if you are already in profit ... as for me .... i am positively undecided
LIKE-MINDED DINNER ..... nominee, tarzanhey and myself have already decided to meet up for a convivial evening in central London during w/c 3rd April ..... the final venue still has to be decided, but London being London, the expected cost will probably be £65/75 a head If any "fellow friends" would like to join us (numbers may be limited), please contact me on ranciduk@aol.com
UKB - i commented on the rise in both this and eol on friday ...... today, in telegraph "your money" there is an article with a BUY recommendation ..... figures are due on tuesday and apparently reckoned to be strong .... on the baisis of all the above BUY
CHP - i like this company and its location too, otherwise i would not have bought .... however, as with vog, i have bought more than i want to keep long(er) term and will trade those if it feels right to do so ..... good way of keeping the portfolio balanced and also to reduce the overall price of the stock in question.
CHP - racing certainty that benlittle's self-promotion was just hot air (surprise, surprise!), but i don't care ..... CHP has done the biz and the expected announcement is unlikely to be more than 7/10 days away, so expect lots of excitement in the run-up ..... if you have loads n loads of these, then consider taking some profits befoe the event.
Market confused me with someone else like Evil Knievel who always shorts stuff!
BLR - before buying this share, i strongly recommend you read the excellent article of 23 march in oilbarrel.com re cambrian oil & gas ..... you will then understand why heavy oils are singularly unsexy and why one should be very wary of investing in companies whose profitability etc are based on same.
EOL+UKB - both these shares have suddenly got on the move, though i perceive nmo obvious reason .... i hold both ..... however, as i can see no logic, i am reluctant to post a (WEAK) BUY on either
mto2006 - where did you dig up that one ..... loved it!
Omega 3 - it seems that if you are an eskimo who has habitually eaten seal which has been eating other fish rich in omega 3, then your chances of heart disease are much lower .... however, it could be that eskimos are genetically more robust in that respect and the one has nothing to do with the other!
CHP - 90% = 90% of my normal investment ..... very occasionally i may buy 150%, but that would almost certainly be a heavyweight blue(ish) chip company .... or as with vog, the price rise had taken my holding to that level.
