RDS (FTSE) - i have taken a modest short on the index, as much as a hedge as anything else ...... i may have called it wrong yesterday, but don't bet too much against it ..... markets do not move in straight lines, and it is not uncommon for a resistance (or support) to be broken perhaps for a day or two, before correcting.

CHP - in this instance bottom and bottle are synonymous, as they were in a previous era ..... the buyers are back because they have just remembered that the licence announcement will indeed happen, albeit rather later than wanted

PXC - with most "friends" biting their nails over the next moves for eme and vog, attention may have strayed from PXC ..... time to re-concentrate i think ...... sp broke through 14p just the other day, and with just a little pause has trundled on upwards ...... i am confident in myself that pxc will not stay independent; it is just the timing and the buy-out price that remain unknown, but for the latter, i would not expect <20p

MPH - Generally speaking, the high street is having a very bad time indeed with no obvious sign of any upturn ...... something of a non-seq i know, but i am 95% certain that there was no compromise between mph and boateng and 100% sure that the licence with YSL runs out at the back end of this year ..... on the other hand, mph seems to have finalised the deal with moda(usa), though i thought that was done ages ago, and i am also uncertain of its importance to the company ..... anyway, i guess one waits to see what happens next, which presumably will be the figures in may

MPH - GedW - in a word NO .... MPH do not make/design handbags ...... just more buyers than sellers.

RDS (FTSE) - GedW - i would not be at all surprised to see the index reach 6500 before year end, but as you well know, there will be lots of dips before then ...... in fact, a correction is now due, not least because that psychological level of 6000 has just been hit ...... financial y/e is also likely to bring some profit-taking, for fairly obvious reasons ...... one of the only things that may prevent this, is continued strength on Wall Street ..... Dow is now flirting with 11250 having shot up about 400 points in less than a month (maybe only 2/3 weeks) ..... too far too fast imo, so again acorrection of some sort now due.

why? are you worried that jane might enjoy it (and you too?)

FAO - GedW is far better on this sort of thing than i, but for what it is worth ...... imo, no one is going to lend fao a stack of money against what will always be potential until there is a true flowrate assessment ....... on that basis, i would guess that any financier will want a large slice of the equity and/or will introduce fao to a suitor. on balance, i think this is a reasonable risk, provided it is taken in the full acceptance that you could be left with a handful of dust ...... still not sure if i shall put any money on the line

FAO - tarzan / noclue - ok then; you decide to invest no more than you can genuinely afford to lose - i.e. no funding = no value ...... why should this funding NOT be forthcoming, or conversely, why should it be? ..... is the funding to exploit REAL resources or just POTENTIAL? ...... if the funding does materialise, where do you see that putting the sp immediately afterwards? ......

I am sure your father appreciated your legendary generosity ..... lol! Used to play coarse rugby in my younger days which i enjoyed enormously, but there was none of this "serious training regime" and crap like that ..... my training was cycling daily, in a fairly gentle manner, from Shepherd's Bush to Brick Lane, and surprise surprise, back again at the end of the day

MDY - from memory i did well out of this share when it traded several years ago at +/-125 ...... just because it has fallen into an abyss does not per se make it a bargain .... in fact, there is often good cause for the collapse ...... beware trying to catch the falling knife by buying more and more just to lower your average cost.

I am afraid i hit a silly little ball all over the park, find it, whack it again, and hope i have not lost it! ..... used to go trout fishing quite a lot when my dad was alive and hale and hearty but have not been for a long time as Beloved does not fish and would get bored (I suspect)
