RDS (ISAs) ..... i'm surprised you're surprised that isas only apply to uk domiciled peeps, for they are a uk tax dodge scheme, so if you ain't paying uk tax, why should you get or need relief?

i can tell you quite a lot about The Chartists but don't ask me to explain the niceties of technical charts ...... however, they are very useful investment tool, if for no other reason that there are plenty of peeps and comp programmes that follow the intricate patterns of share movements ...... my broker is pretty hot on charts and generally speaking, i rely on him to give me buy and sell signals - e.g. Pearson was a good buy on fundamentals, and became even more interesting once it broke through a resistance at 740 with upward potential to 840 ..... knowing that info, you may be able to work out why ...... 20 day (and others) moving averages can help dealing decisions insofar as they too create resiatnces (on the way up) or support (on the way down)

RDS (ISAs) - i wonder if CFDs can be held in an ISA, for it is certainly mooted if not already enacted that CFDs can be held in a SIPP ..... anyone know?

BFC - not sure what the price was on friday, but certainly 180 should be a possibility insofar as that is where the price hits 20 dma, though it is probably falling slightly ..... fundamentals aren't too bad either, provided you can ignore the rather shaky financials

MRP - i am already in these at below and at this price (23p), but they have suddenly come to life this morning (+3p) with a lot of traffic ..... perhaps an announcement about to come

AFD - so pleased i got out of these a couple of weeks back ..... got in on the back of the initial announcement and then they went to sleep completely, so got out from boredom and also to get a bit of money off the table ...... ain't hindsight great, as with mph!!

JKX - it's possible but not guaranteed that there will be some sort of knee-jerk reaction as the funds involved are obliged to buy, but i dare say many of those will come across as x-trades will litlle impact ...... whether jkx is a good punt is another Q

KCOM - while there may be no deal today - i.e. Hull CC refusing to sell - that certainly does not mean no deal tomorrow ...... to my mind, it is almost inconceivable that kcom will remain independent so sooner or later a deal will be struck ..... whether it is at 85p or a bit more or even a bit less (little chance), remains to be seen, but looks like a pretty good return on capital if you can buy @ +/-70p = 22%

DUN - though such a possibility should not be ruled out, it would be a brave buy (rather than hang on if you already have them) as the notional spread is 1p so it would have to be one hell of an increased bid for a new buyer to make money

ELP - in fact my continuing advice is to steer clear of this stock .... there are much better fish ..... in fact, if you want a reasonable gamble you could do far worse (just my view) than look at EME at its current price, but read through the posts and everything else very carefully.

best advice i was given was in rheims where the shop told me to buy a small local grower's champagne rather than a known hoise and to keep it for a year .... it cost about £10 and was very good indeed ..... ditto will apply to a good supermarket's own label

ELP - my original sell advice on the stock was based on common sense (i thought; and shame i did not follow it on eme!) ..... elp rocketed merely because they were going to start drilling the Jaguar field ..... this was all hot money chasing blue sky albeit that Jaguar was known to have potential ...... from memory, the price doubled, and i suggested it was prudent to take profits (sell) before the result, as a dry well would collapse the price .... i followed my advice, took a profit, got back in, and lost it + a bit ..... damn old fool!!

BLR - can't even remember what i wrote about PRTY ..... never owned them, but must have read the entrails correctly!

ELP - i am flattered .... my main gripe about the elp board and thus the company, was voiced some weeks ago and that is why i did not repeat it. .... very briefly, as far as my untrained eye can determine, the directors look after themselves very well indeed, yet the company has no assets and no income ...... it is just a load of blue sky .... to my mind, the directors are at best being careless with the shareholders funds, or put another way, damn greedy! ..... if, and it is becoming an ever greater if, elp strike it lucky, then the directors have (sort of) every right to get their snouts in the trough ..... in the meantime, they should be properly frugal, as indeed they would be if they were using 100% their own money ..... is that a good enough argument for you? ... lol!

CHP - jaak - you just posted a long announcement on CEY implying that the Bolivian govnt was seeking to take a majority stake in CHP ..... I am 95% certain you have that wrong ..... Chaco is a region and the article was talking about Petrolinas Chaco (or something like that) and NOT Chaco Resources (CHP) which does not have interests in Bolivia anyhow.
