GED - I was going to ask if this company was really any different from CHP, given that it operates in pretty much the same areas. However, I notice from a quick glance that it is a "real" company and is trading at profit ..... always a good place to start - ask ELP, Cynic adds ruefully! Have posted this as a Weak Buy but may upgrade to full Buy with more research.

CHP - let's all hope that today was Ash Tuesday and tomorrow will be Fat Wednesday! .... With regards to CHP, I topped up quite enthusiastically yesterday, so i hope that does not prove rash ..... Rather think not. SG - I knew you hadn't really run from your creditors!

I don't know Ben at all, so he would not know me except perhaps by ill-repute!

RDS (General crap!) .... I'm afarid I am now hoping ELP will get buried as am now short! ..... That said, I have a pretty heavy position in CSR which got hammered having produced stunning results ...... Oh well; shouldn't really complain as am currently (relatively) oodles up for the financial year, so I console myself that I can crystalise some losses to reduce CGT

MRP - feel a bit like apiece of cod today - well battered ... lol! .... Could do with some good news and may top up here tomorrow morning as too late today

RDS - as the subject says!! ...... what a horrid day at the ranch today, but then we can't have champagne everyday or the palate would become jaded ...... let's hope for some jollier news during the rest of the week.

MRP - am already in these at 18, and could or even would buy more if i could see good reason ... so, tradrejack, what announce,ent are you expecting next week, for i did not spot anything to indicate such, though i dare say you are correct

GGEA/GOOG - Google were up $11.00 in NY yesterday and now DOWN $26.00 today ..... that is excatly why I said it was such a dangerous stock to play .... and remember, while GGEA will reflect GOOG, you canniot trade GGEA out of NY trading hours.

DGM - yes it does ... many thanks ..... not sure what to make of this particular company though, but then i haven't really bothered to check it out

DGM - am now marginally the wiser but not entirely sure why this should be deemed such a good sector/company in which to invest ..... in truth, was really asking cos GedW linkde this company with PXC in another post

DGM - could someone please explain to me (in English!) exactly what it is that this company does apart from making lots of opportunity for some members to comment on.

PPE and other minnows ..... oilbarrel.com is quite selective and does not pretend to give comprehensive cover or detail on each and every company in the sector

CHP - no more idea than you i'm afraid ..... howver, it may just have some relevance that there was a very very important trade deal finalised between USA and Colombia just before last w/e ...... that MAY help CHP get their approval or whatever, or it may make no difference at all!

CHP - I like the idea of holdding certain shares for long(er) term and having another batch for trading ..... Which shares one sells may or often should be influenced on your CGT tax position

IND - was going to buy these yesterday on the strength of a very good review in Quantum Leap ..... (un)fortunately the market was only in 500 so i gave it a miss ..... and thank goodness for that, as price was then 530!

PXC - in all the oil excitement (and depression!) I had rather forgotten about these ..... Have had these earmarked as a Buy for a long time, and may now even increase my holding to > my norm, as it is a racing certainty that PXC will not remain independent for a further 12 months

ELP - it is becoming increasingly likely that this Jaguar well be dry ..... as far as i can see, this was supposedly the jewel in ELP's crown ..... ELP only have 4 other sites to explore (I think) and meanwhile, the directors seem to be living high on the hog ..... i don't think they will be bringing in bacon, and to continue the metaphor, in that case they will be toast!

DOO - have taken the plunge here for about 50% of my norm .... i don't expect fireworks in the immediate future, but certainly like the look of this company going forward into 2007. Bought now as sp has tumbled significantly in last couple of weeks, probably for no reason than lemmings hopping about. Also directors have certainly bought in the recent past at around 270.

ELP - Though my loss has not been too great in the greater context of things, it all serves me right for being greedy - will I never learn? - as last night I was showing a profit of >25% on an investment made on a couple of weeks ago ..... c'est la vie. Hope none of the "friends on this site have been too badly burnt.

TPH - results have seemingly brought a big YAWN ..... unlike in CSR where stunning results have brought about a 10% drop in the sp! ..... no pleasing some.
