DOO - risk1 is right, at least in the long(er) term. I am far from convinced that there will be fireworks in the immediate future, but early 2007 or even late 2006 could see a major re-rating ...... More research needed to try to determine an entry price if buying now, but certainly worth a BUY recxommendation.

CHP - company indisputably has very good prospects and Colombia, contrary to popular belief, is now very stable and considered a good international credit risk ..... As for 100p in the remotely foreseeable future ... hahahaha! though it would please me greatly to be proved wrong.

PLEASE (RDS)! .... it takes just a small effort to preface any post with the sticker of the stock concerned ..... Without it one has no idea sight unseen, whether the post is of direct or even any interest to the viewer.

BLR - I quite liked the look of this stock, even if heavy oil is the equivalent of Torquay Utd for sexiness .... but then I looked at the spread .... If 0.40p is for real, that equates to about 25% which is nuts!

ELP - I bought a stake at 36p after they had come back from 45, and intend to hold until after the drilling result. The logic was that I could afford to lose the whole of my stake, but if by some chnace ELP hits the jackpot, which is far from a foregone conclusion, then my small stake could develop into something a little tastier ...... Now the shares have recovered to 42, I think it is too risky to take the plunge, and therefore not a buy.

Glad to see some entertaining nonsense while i was away ..... I was under the strong impression that the story of lemmings jumping over a cliff came from a biblical source, but I can't remember where ..... That said, the word seemingly derives from nordic and was first recorded in English usage around 1607 ... Surely there are some DDs on this site who can enlighten us?

TPH - lost last attempt! ..... despite the lack of liquidity, which is a worry, I may take a modest stake on Monday when io shall be able to monitor throughout the day. SG - Dubai was great for biz but for holidays is now VILE ..... The whole Jumeirah Beach end is a growing concrete jungle with roadworks and solid traffic everywhere ...... Used to take about 20 mins to get to the old town, but can take 45 or more ...... Was impressed by Park Hyatt Creek (Creek GC) where I had lunch one day, and if I have to go back in a few weeks to finalise some stuff, I may well give it a try ..... It's near the airport and quite easy to get to the old town (I think) .... Will send you an e-mail shortly

SEY - all very curious ..... can't spot anything anywhere, but certainly average trades are only 2.5 million a day ...... half tempted here, but always nervous of acting without any logic.

MRP - since the initial flurry of excitement there has been no news of any kind that I can find ..... This is rather tiresome for us investors (gamblers!) as lack of news tends to lead to sp drift ...... As I posted before, the major problem with MRP's site is that the gas is very dirty and therefore expensive to extract .... While gas prices remain high, this will not matter greatly but any (significant) dip is likely to affect the sp disproportionately .... If you already have the shares, you should probably show a good profit, but I think this needs watching with a view to bailing out quickly if things move the wroing way ..... Forecasts of £1.00 or more in near future for sp by some is ridiculously optimistic!

BLR - there is a long update to be found on oilbarrel.com that was released yesterday (24th) though perhaps after hours ...... From my inexpert view, it looks to be pretty bullish, though if my interpretation is correct, there will be nothing truly positive to announce on the exploration side for at least several months ...... Have I read this correctly?

CHP - I concur re benlittle ..... what a pillock ..... Given the time differences, I would be moderately surprsied to hear anything new until after close of biz on Monday ..... and that assumes there is something to be announced ...... oilbarrel.com is usually very prompt with news, so it is worth keeping a check there

TPH - no I don't .... I decided the lack of liquidity and/or possibility of buying/selling a reasonable amount did not make a good risk, despite the attractions of thre company itself.

BLR / CHP - the Colombia play is certainly very interesting and currently to the fore ..... What is the general consensus as to the better buy between BLR and CHP .... Certainly the latter has been performing very well of late

BFC - tommc - certainly BFC had lots of well-publicised problems, but they apparently secured an additional loan facility (not the same as funding) some weeks back ..... I was lucky enough to make money when shorting and again going long later ...... At the moment I hold none of these ..... That said, and it is not original, biofuels certainly have a bright future, but assuredly not all involved companies will survive.

CHP - I now hold about 25% (at today's value) of my "norm" in these shares having bought at 12.6 and 14.5 ...... I am modestly tempted to take that to 30% or even 35% on Monday, nothwithstanding the comparative premium I shall be paying.

COP - Hi SG .... This is one of your faves, but I confess I am getting a little bored with it as there seems to be neither news nor action ..... What are your thoughts?

ULT - I too have sold about 50% of my holding, albeit that I had given back some of the profit .... but a profit's a profit. The real problem (for me) is to try to find some logic and sensible judgment as to what the sp could reasonably expect to be in say 6 months now that the long-awaited news is now out. For no especially good reason, I think ULT at this level is now a Strong Hold, but would be hard-pushed to be sensibly more bullish that that

TPH - though shareguru is right to point out the attrcations of this company, it would be well for all prospective invesors to be fully aware that (at least) 80% of the stock is held by the directors or similar. It follows that the shares are extremeley illiquid and may prove very difficult to sell in any volume at all, or at least, at the advertised price ...... NMS is only 1000 shares. You are all warned!
