Hello BG, sorry , not trying to avoid you! Yes you are correct WEN are not an operator and have institutional investors however I am not sure that you can compare the two as WEN are essentially a Norwegian quoted company and, as such will appeal to a different selection of II's, with different investment mandates and regulations than is usual for UK Instututions and targets. Even then the II's that hold WEN do not have significant value and have been long term holders who originally took their positions as part of a WEN fund raise /placing at at time when WEN were indeed the operator of Mnazi Bay; they farmed out to Maurel & Prom at a later date.
Actually, in my view, it is not impossible to concieve of Institutional Interest in AEX at this stage BUT that it would help if AEX were in funds, had the capital to invest in Kiliwani development and of course already had a proven source of material income in excess of their commitments. Though I will stick to my guns and state that it there are very very few II's that would look at a micro cap, one geography, one (fossil fuel) industry portfolio investment company that were not in control of their own assets and income. Keeping one that you have had for years is very different than getting a new one.
And I am not even going to bother responding to the rambling diatribe from mctripe; to suggest that Pension Funds will be investing in a microcap like AEX? Dearie me.
And with that I will return to my journey.
Bye for now, GLA.
