These same 'scum' probably appear as great parents, loving partners, community stalwarts, etc...to their colleagues !! Sad b..tards. But yes it does go on and you say in many mining cos !! What I find most concerning is that the Analysts don't uncover most of these deceipts and they are tasked with safeguarding pension and investment funds for millions !! Just wondering meoryou, as BP are buying back their own shares why wouldn't they be allowed to have knowledge of their own business ? The same business buying back their own shares (both source co and trader the same party), surely not within 'insider trading' definition which I think relates to separate parties, one the source the other the trader ?

bobocaca, the FED's brief is to reduce inflation, the latter is increased by more demand for goods and services many of which are in short supply v demand. The FED has no issue with employment levels as long as consumers don't in total overspend (creating demand and upping inflation). If consumers invested and banked enough more of their income for long enough until the post-pandemic demand build-up, supply shortages, high energy prices, etc...subsided, then the FED wouldn't need to raise int rates to deal with inflation because the higher prices would naturally subside. But even God couldn't get humans to co-operate on such a scale !! Maybe legalised forced saving schemes an option to keep consumer spending out of the main economy, but riots would probably ensue ?!!

No1plasterer, I can certainly relate to how you feel after losing I guess a lot on BAB. I've avoided stocks over the years that I'd lost loads on, but if I'd bought back at their lows, well I would have recouped all or most of what I'd lost !! Important to keep emotions out of the decision making !! Defemce spending increasing, disposals paying back debt, profitability restarted....

Goodness casio5, how do you sleep at night, 18,000 shares circa £384k in one share ? Why not diversify somewhat, I've a nice spread in BP, HLN, VOD, BATS, IMB, PHNX, LGEN, AV., etc...as well as SHEL, all high div payers. Also have a range of non-div growth / recovery shares. I'd never have so much in one share as never know what may happen, eg Oil Spill !! Assuming that your SHEL holding isn't a c 10% part of a large portfolio of course, great if the latter is true !!

TinkerT, I'd imagine Algos acted on the reduced target. Couldn't DB have to pay compo for this error to those who can prove they lost due to it, eg those who sold as a result, etc... ?
