It shouldn't be forgotten that the SM solution intervenes in real time and is not a post event type scoring system that most telematics companies provide. The SM solution is preferable imo, but these telematics companies can partner with ADAS providers such as SEE, mobileye etc to enhance their offering or try and develop their own solutions in house (as TRAK are trying to do). Very difficult to do though as they are many years behind on R&D.
If a fatigue/distraction event is uploaded immediately to the the cloud and a call made to the fleet manager etc, that seems adequate to me. Clearly it would be better if such footage could immediately be relayed to the Fleet Managers back office, in real time,if the client desires this. It's what the likes of TRAK are trying to do and hopefully SEE will partner with more of these telematics companies who are seasoned professionals in the Fleet arena having been at it for longer than SEE.
