Mention was made in the AGM statement today that the fleet monitoring service is profitable. That's something that is positive and while fleet has some issues and is not presently growing as fast as we would like, it is still bringing in income.

Few trades but at least the share price has gone up on a bumpy day for a few stocks. Given the rise, I'm not expecting any post close commentary from Statler and Waldorf - hooray! :)

It shouldn't be forgotten that the SM solution intervenes in real time and is not a post event type scoring system that most telematics companies provide. The SM solution is preferable imo, but these telematics companies can partner with ADAS providers such as SEE, mobileye etc to enhance their offering or try and develop their own solutions in house (as TRAK are trying to do). Very difficult to do though as they are many years behind on R&D.

If a fatigue/distraction event is uploaded immediately to the the cloud and a call made to the fleet manager etc, that seems adequate to me. Clearly it would be better if such footage could immediately be relayed to the Fleet Managers back office, in real time,if the client desires this. It's what the likes of TRAK are trying to do and hopefully SEE will partner with more of these telematics companies who are seasoned professionals in the Fleet arena having been at it for longer than SEE.

I just don't understand why Waymo apparently think such tech is superfluous for their testing. Alternatively, they are being secretive and are looking to adopt such tech in due course. If their rivals adopt it, you'd expect that they will too.

It would be nice to hear more news on the BDMS system. Maybe next week? Virtually no recent videos of an Apple car online and certainly not of it's interior. Surely the tech is in use somewhere, based on the Sept RNS? I am just mystified why no verification of this yet via a photo.

Ah yes. Interesting. Mention of building up a profile on a driver via machine learning. Perhaps facial recognition here also then.

On reading again it's analysing driver style and not state. Doh. No related to what our tech does imo.

The conti system encompasses algorithms that appear to be analysing steering wheel torque, journey speed, braking etc to assess driver state. Similar to the 'coffee cup' system' and perhaps 'old hat'? I assume they're still doing something with DMS based on other pages on their website.

I never quite understood why VSI were not doing the manufacturing of Guardian, given that they do this for the likes of Dyson and also happen to be our strategic investor. I assume it was simply cheaper to have this done in China.

As the xilinx SoC becomes available, am I right in thinking that our costs are significantly lowered for Guardian Gen 3 as this replaces what is effectively Intel PC architecture for Guardian Gen 2, at a cheaper price? ( I don't know if I am talking bollox here so apologies if I am). If the processing hardware is reduced somewhat in price, does this then allow for VSI perhaps to take on manufacture of the Guardian shells and related components?

Thanks for that link Foxup68. What Toyota are attempting to do here is impressive and SEE DMS would be a good fit for this.

SEE have DMS with 1.3 million km of data, no one else has this, i wonder what else is to discuss other than price.$5 k seems low ball to me.
