On the whole I quite liked the update. I do get the cash worries but the opportunity looks so big and SEE are the technical leader in the space.

This also caught my eye:-

Who could this be? I know we are already collaborating with Veoneer (Autoliv) on their LIV automated car. Could this perhaps be with a Japanese Tier 1? I've got Toyotas Guardian system in mind. I don't know who the Tier 1 is here and I could be totally barking up the wrong tree with this.

Back to that First Bus news this morning. I see that Alexander Dennis Ltd have previously built a lot of First's buses. I seem to recall a poster several months ago informing us that Alexander Dennis were building buses with a DMS fitted. I can't remember who that poster was but it appears he was correct and that it's Seeing Machines!

Hi Terry - Yes, hopefully that youtube vid is an indication that Super Cruise will roll out in China in the not too distant future.

Sounds good. The only quibble I'd have with safetsocks article is that almost half those Caddy sales are in China. Let's hope Super Cruise is deployed there, though I don't know how long that will take. Also, will it be a standard fit on the Caddy or optional? The Caddy range isn't exactly cheap - I think the cheapest model is about $35k? - anyone who can afford such a car probably has a decent job. Adding Super Cruise as standard would perhaps not greatly increase the price of this range of cars in relative terms considering their premium price range.

I'd stress that I don't know what the cost for Super Cruise is. Last I saw 12+ months ago the price was about $5k and GM were hoping to get the price down in future.

See20 - indeed! I also forgot Ford lol! I think things should really get motoring at some point in 2020 for SEE with I am sure more OEM awards pending.

I believe in 2018 Caddy sold about 155,000 cars in USA, but of course they'll be launching some new models in 2020 so there's perhaps an opportunity to grow those sales. Super Cruise will only be available on US models in 2020, perhaps China will follow in time? Hopefully penetration of Super Cruise will be significant, but I assume it's optional and hopefully the price is not too high. I know GM were hoping to get that $5000 price down and I think it will appeal to those who can afford it.

I think 2021 is perhaps the year for SEE. But there should be some great news flow in 2020 (and hopefully before!), with the Caddy launches in addition to Merc and Byton (BMW for 2021?).

It was announced today that Super Cruise will be extended to the entire Cadillac line up by end of 2020. I guess I was hoping for a little sooner, but these things take time I guess:-

I think so curiouser, SEE have been around since about 2000. I know Smarteye have had a similar lifespan and many others are I think more recent.

Eyesight have just raised $50 million according to this article and are after the chinese market:-

It's difficult to know. I just saw this Byton vid (24 secs in) in. Looking at this vid and the camera location(s) it's difficult to identify SEE as the supplier of this DMS yet the belief is that it is:-

Changing the subject. How any companies are showcasing DMS at CES. I've seen Panasonic, Clarion, Denso, Samsung, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and probably more that I've forgotten about. It's certainly heating up.

That comment by Pete Bigalow on twitter reflects that:

I can now buy £1k worth.

The reality is that you can't buy any at the moment. I bought two lots of £5k, having been unable to buy a single £10k tranche. I have a little more funds but can't even buy £2.5k worth of shares.

It's skulduggery I think. I'm totally pissed off with it and SM is my last investment on LSE.

Difficult to pick any up. Sold some shares elsewhere to pick up more here, but could only buy so many. This market is absolutely dire but it has been that way for months and is impacting many, many stocks.

I think people will still want to replace their cars, though of course car sales will be impacted in the event of a down turn. I use a mobile phone that I have had since 2010, it's simple but fine for me and I'd like to keep it for as long as it lasts. I have no interest in iphones. I do have more interest in cars however but unless the SP budges here near term I'll be tyrying to keep my 14 year old car on the road for a wee bit longer!
