Sipp, oil does have a future, but not in the same volume, therefore, supply will exceed demand and areas like the North Sea where production costs are high will fall by the wayside - it makes no sense to invest for the long term in the North Sea.

New York took a nasty hit on Friday - I guess its a good thing that London is closed Monday - NY is open Monday and will hopefully bounce - Fed decision on US Interest rates due next Wednesday evening with guidance for next steps to be taken.

Yes, sure, short term is excellent for NS Oil and Gas - ride the wave - but long term the industry is vulnerable because of high production costs, even without changes in energy usage. Energy independence will be forgotten if cheaper options are available.

The consensus is that domestic gas supplies will be maintained next winter but supply to industry could be interrupted.

Hence industry is now planning ahead to replace carbon fuels with renewables over the medium term - it won't help next winter but in the years ahead it will kick start the use of renewables as a major source of power for heavy industry.

Yes, I think investors are onto a winner here - an excellent long term hold, the SP should recover to pre-Covid over the next 12 months or so.

The product is solid, dependable and above all convenient.

Adding Premier Plus to the offering gives the opportunity for more revenue and should attract a broader range of customers, especially in the business sector - its good to see stays by business customers increasing again.

Personally, I use Premier Inn when I am travelling around the country and its good to see standards now improving to pre-Covid levels, although its obvious that attracting proficient staff is still a problem.

Leisure demand looks set to be the driver this Spring and Summer with UK tourism enjoying a buoyant season.

Yes, I agree - Ocado Retail could take a lead on reducing excess packaging and packaging that cannot be recycled, because its not needed for promotion.
Ocado's own range has less packaging but M&S products are generally OTT.

This is the problem, no one really knows how bad the economic situation could get - including HMG - hence the poor sentiment and the lack of foresight.

When we can see a way through the current problems we could see a big bounce back.

There is some encouragement, WTB announced results good today, they had a bad Covid, but like M&S the opposition suffered much worst and they find themselves with much less competition in their market place, also they have reinstated a dividend - hopefully a good omen.

I think that we were all guilty of that, but no one could have foreseen the problems on the supply side resulting from the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It looking increasingly likely that the only way to deal with the current macro problems is to slow the global economy down into low growth/recession by robustly increasing interest rates - this seems to be the Feds policy.

Latest news is that it looks very unlikely that the US and Iran will agree a Nuclear Deal - so crude prices very likely to spike much higher.

Revenue projections within a specific time frame are pretty meaningless and can cause confusion to all.
The current SP is probably still depressed by the BOD's over zealous predictions last year.

Maybe it would be better to break down revenue predictions into three categories and just leave it at that.
1. Revenue from operational systems.
2. Expected revenue from projects under construction.
3. Expected revenue from projects in development.

Poland seem to have sorted supplies of Gas for the summer but next Autumn could be problematic, although there are other sources of supply coming online from notably Norway via the Baltic Pipeline due to open in October.

The bottom line seems to be that EU countries, including Poland, will have sufficient natural gas supplies from next autumn for domestic use, but supply could be restricted for industry.

Therefore, I think we can expect a big acceleration in demand from industry for gas alternatives with industry turning to local energy supply solutions - Eqtec will be busy.

MW are shorting quite a few retailers at the moment.
I guess, they are targeting the sector and the volatility created by the news flow - today certainly demonstrated that they know what they are doing in this regard.

One thing that could change things, is if the two big OCDO shareholders start buying - their 2021 purchases are well under water now.

Ocado is a 90% global tech company and just 10% retail with its partnership with M&S.
The SP gets pushed around by the retail connection but it actually makes little different to Ocado.
The main reasons for the fall are simply sentiment and macro.
Also shorts are having a field day.

The current SP is distorted by the market itself - current macro is pushing all stocks down, especially growth stocks, so true value is only in the eyes of the long term investor.

This is likely to continue and will probably get worst over the next few months, but yesterdays rise against the market must be taken as a very strong indication of just how good a prospect EQT is.

Make use of current market conditions to purchase EQT for the long term.

I did fear the worst this morning when the SP was dicing with 1000p but someone must have played the get out of jail card, hopefully this morning was the worst it will get.
The heat may be off for a bit as crude prices slipped and markets may have found the bottom?

The only way out of the current supply side inflation may be a short period of low growth bordering on a recession, so it seems that the Feds strategy of higher interest rates with frequent intervention may be the best one.
