I think most investors who sell tend to develop a negative view of the stock they have sold - I know I do.
This is especially true when the SP has fallen back a long way and profits have been trimmed or losses incurred.

In this case however, I think Valueplay is correct and the macro is badly stacked against Ocado.

But, is it a sell?

In my view no, the potential is still here and improving with reimagined. Unless there is a need to sell, just hang on and wait for better times.

Its good to see some positive news today, with the new tech from Myrmex being used to reduce labour costs for Solutions partners.
Also Ocado has its modelling seminar on Wednesday to explain to analysts and investors just what Ocado are all about.

I guess as we only had a trading update about a month ago there won't be that much to report unless there have been developments since then but maybe we will learn more about the European operation.
So, it will simply be 2021 in more detail.

There is no doubt that the pandemic pushed OCDO massively overbought and I think it has now swung into oversold territory but most of the valuation is based on sentiment, so I think sentiment will continue to drive the SP.

So in this case the answer probably doesn't lie in the charts - OCDO will simply follow the market and will probably continue to do so in an exaggerated way.

Yes, but could be more cost effective than individual heat pumps.
Certainly an idea worth exploring with 25% of residential property in the UK close to mines.
Also ex mining communities tend to be in poorer areas, so that could be an advantage for residents on low incomes if the capital costs are affordable.

Geothermal energy has a great future in ex mining regions of the UK - warm water is pumped from old coal mines and used for communal heating in new housing estates.

Very interesting - have never considered an electric/hydrogen hybrid before - note the tank is only 2.5kg.

I wonder if, rather than having filling stations - would it be possible to have a "canister feed" and just exchange canisters - full for empty - when the car needed refuelling?

I think western leaders need to make it clearer that the sanctions are aimed at Putin, rather than Russia and the Russian people.

This would give a clear indication to anyone contemplating regime change that the reward would be the end of sanctions in return for ending the war in Ukraine and returning all Ukrainian territory including Crimea to Ukraine.

I think this talk of a military coup in Russia has some credibility.

The retired Russia General speaking out on the Russian equivalent to Panorama and the sidelining of Russian commanders with Putin taking control on the battlefield give clues. Also the obvious lack of morale in the ranks with some soldiers refusing to fight all paint a bleak picture for Putin.

My conclusions are simply logic.
Recession - fuel use declines - cost of fuel falls as supply exceeds demand and sentiment changes - SP's of energy companies falls.
Also - I have never been a scientist or full time trader.

You are right for once romaron.
This is an evil market at the moment and energy shares are one of the few bright spots, but even they are not immune from recession - also they have further to fall from year highs.
It may be a good time to take profit on energy, but I guess Warren Buffet cannot be wrong?

Some market analysts think the FED haven't been strong enough re US interest rates and want a 0.75% increase or even a 1% rise - that could be enough to induce a recession - Brent would probably test around the $92 mark and maybe vulnerable to further reductions.
With most energy shares at the top of their year range, logically they would fall back on soured sentiment - ENQ could be exception because of their reduced debt levels.

I think financial markets actually want a short shallow recession now to combat inflation.

One consequence of that will be a drop in demand for energy - Brent will fall back and ease inflationary pressure.

Energy shares are therefore vulnerable to a pull back.

Economic reality will force retail stores to make cuts and its obvious that most of the cuts will have to be in staffing numbers.

There have been a couple of stories in the media over the last few weeks that indicate the pressure Tesco staff are under.
The first was a BBC reporter with a guide dog being ejected for a Tesco store not once but twice - harassed staff were to blame.
The second was an elderly customer who couldn't operate the self service till and would not wait 30 mins for service on the regular manned till.
I guess these incidents are just the tip of the iceberg and can only be good news for the switch to online.

OCDO has now become a full blown contrarian investment, all the negatives are here and it could get worst, but its the nature of markets that adverse sentiment is always overdone and it only needs green shoots for sentiment to turn for the better.

Unfortunately, as we saw yesterday, the green shoots are getting cut back by frost.

I remain fully invested - luckily I don't need to sell.
