Shorts hoping for crappy figures out of the states this afternoon to push overall negative sentiment - MCG at the mercy of the vagaries in macro economics due to no upcoming reports being due - I would have expected directors to be buying to show some support or management to update on current trading to offer some kind of support to the share price, but neither have materialised and that is worrying - needs to hold the 52.85p support level or the shorts will smell blood and this share price will then start with a 4

I keep coming back to the same conclusion re Ocado - the patents it has are rock solid as Autostore found out so how is it going to be replicated? - even if it could be replicated how much would it cost to do this? - there has been lots of noise re Amazon and other suitors building their own system but how are they going to navigage the patents and moreover what is the cost going to be - surely purchasing Ocado must be the most cost effective way going forward - I am looking at adding here if falls much further - the p/e ratio is currently around 1:1 atm - that looks very cheap to me -

Decided to err on the cautious side here and sell the ones I bought yesterday at more or less break even - there are some big GDP numbers dropping in the states at 130pm today - if they are not what the market is expecting it could send MCG lower - the US market is fragile at best atm and as I have said before MCG is subject to macro economic vagaries going forward as no results/updates are in the pipeline which puts shorts in overall control - lets see what plays out - gla dyor etc

Just sold the last 25pct of my share here for a 50pct profit - decided the downside outweighs the upside now - good luck to all remaining holders

Decided to buy back 75pct of the ones I sold at 65p for 56.2p - will add on further weakness, - for me now the upside is better than the downside here - the mcap is less than 350m which is pretty low tbh - Cosmans still holding gives me encouragement that hopefully we are near the bottom here - lets see

Needs to hold the 56p handle, next stop down is 52p looking at the charts - I am not a chartist but a lot of investors are and will sell if certain targets are not met - as I said in a previous post, MCG is subject to macro/micro economic vagaries - the Dow has come off in recent days due to interest rate cuts not coming through as quickly as first thought, and many think it is way overbought right now, while this should make no difference to MCG it will and UK stocks will be marked down accordingly as they were this morning - feel for you guys holding here atm, I have been there myself in certain stocks and it isn't pleasant - gla dyor etc

A lot being made this morning of rUK retail sales missing targets - that just goes to show how good the MKS results actually were - the figures everyone should be looking at are the UK Consumer Confidence report which shows a big improvement - augurs well for MKS going forward - follow the money

Poker - re Labour - I will believe it when I see it - London mayor Sadiq Khan caved in to the Tube unions with an extra £30m to avert a week-long pay strike only a few weeks back - that is how Labour works matey - I never saw one Labour MP come out and say the Tories were correct for not caving in on the rail strikes - the Labour stock answer is we will negotiate, like Mr Khan did - that is why the rail strike is still going on, waiting for Labour to get into power so the tables are turned in their favour

Anyone who is thinking about selling this needs to go and seek medical advice imo - the credit ratings from fitch/moodys etc will be being upgraded as debt decreases, the dividend will be back as net profit increases and I suspect the broker upgrades will be on their way shortly as RR has confirmed it is on track to meet its targets which were considered out of the question by some analysts - follow the money

This is taken from MCG latest results - "However, the fall in Adjusted Operating Profit was principally as a result of the January 2023 16.2% pay settlement in UK Bus which was effective from January (the primary driver of a £23m increase in driver costs, with price rises only effective from July)" - anyone who believes pay settlements will not work through to the bottom line with MCG is fooling themselves - this will not get any better under a Labour Gov believe me I have seen it all before - they will promise a good deal for the private sector but in the end they will revert to type imo - tax and spend with plenty more powers for the workers - if you don't believe me listen to what Angela Raynor is saying

Just sold the balance of my stock for a 5pct profit - the wage negotiation has put the tin hat on it here as far as I am concerned and with Labour getting in the unions will have even more power - no corporate news on the horizon anytime soon for MCG so the share price will be subject to the vagaries of macro/micro economics and of course the shorts which are now increasing - the only sliver of light I can see is a takeover, but the predator will want this company at a rock bottom price, and the way it is now looking they will get it - I am out - good luck all who remain

I read a broker comment a few days ago that flying hours could be as high as 110pct - they are not so I suspect a pull back based maybe on this being factored in? - personally I am happy to keep all my holding here based on future prospects

Baxster - I wouldn't worry about it matey - broker upgrades coming down the pipe tomorrow and Friday - they have no option but to upgrade after those results - remember MKS have increased market share/margins in food and clothing over the past 6 months - going forward, inflation and rates are coming down and with recent wage settlements generally being higher, in some cases much higher than current inflation that leaves even more future disposable income in the MKS demographic - follow the money

Decided to sell another 25pct this afernoon at 326p - a 49pct overall profit - the remainding 50pct of my holding I am going to leave and see where it goes - if it falls substantially tomorrow I will buy todays sell back, if it rises then great, more profit down the pipe - gla

Momentum is a very powerful thing in retail - MKS has it now and it is playing out in front of your eyes - retailers like Next are now LOSING market share to MKS on the clothing front and Waitrose are being decimated by MKS on the food front - personally I am selling nothing here - this will go way above 3 quid imo - lets see
