I didn't say small profit mate - I said profit - I am sitting on a 10pct profit with VOD at the moment and I consider that relatively small - if you take 10pct plus profit on everything you invest in then believe me, you will get rich! gl

an old sage in the city once told me -"its never wrong to take a profit" - I have done the same myself nims and could have made a lot more by staying with the share - Boohoo, Weatherspoon and Next to name but a few - but at the end of the day you didn't make a loss - gl

definitely an overreaction yesterday - over half of MKS sales are in food for goodness sake !- NXT may have made a catastrophic error by having one big sale instead of mini sales in the lead up to Christmas - MKS food was flying off the shelves in the food halls where I live over the last few weeks - the clothes are the big question - Mrs C has bought some recently which is a first for her as she only ever buys food there - lets hope a few more like Mrs C have done the same - I hope so as I am in big on this one. gla dyor etc dyor etc

back to my original posting yesterday (have we seen the bottom?) - it looks pretty certain that we have - VOD now trading at 209p as I am writing this - anyone short on this over the last week has took a good hiding - maybe short sellers closing positions is fuelling the rise ? - I am sticking to my 220p price target - gla dyor etc

thanks for your replies guys - I am going to wait it out - I think this has further north to run - I have a gut feeling that Liberty will be back sniffing around in the not too distant future - this merger would make sense imo - it has worked well in the Netherlands and I am sure it can be replicated - in the meantime I will just reinvest the divi back into VOD - GLA DYOR ETC

I have bought mands all the way down from £4.20 to the £3.00 lows we saw in July - I am now in profit with an average price of £3.40 - I have what for me is a massive holding - am I selling - no - I am totally convinced that the mands market strategy is correct and they finally have someone who knows what they are doing in charge - woman's wear will ultimately decide where this share goes - I have looked at the recent offerings and on this front and I am cautiously optimistic - if mands get's this right this share will go north big time - good luck to all - dyor etc

mate - if you wait until the big players start buying you will probably have already missed the boat - the key is to buy BEFORE the big players buy - retailers are going to have a good Christmas imo - more footfall from visitors to the UK taking advantage of the low pound and more UK citizens staying at home for Christmas due to the low pound not being cost effective for a holiday abroad - for me mands is a no brainer and I am in big (and will be in bigger once my dividend has been reinvested back into mands next month) its your decision of course - gl in whatever you decide. dyor etc

looks like the tide is turning for mands - ameriprise/hsbc increased their holding above 5pct - a sign of things to come me thinks - dow up 250 points since our market closed - if this follows through into tomorrow mornings trade there could be some significant programme buying into mands - we shall see gla dyor etc

dow up 250 points plus since we closed - still an hours trading to go but if it finishes up 250 points and sentiment carries through to tomorrows opening there should be some heavy programme buying into VOD - I think we could push £2 sooner rather than later - and by that I mean tomorrow gla dyor etc

I see where you are coming from Pokerchips - there are definitely a few headwinds coming but I am with Gelson on this one - I have averaged down over the last couple of weeks and I now have a pretty large position - looking at the rest of the ftse VOD stands out for me - telecoms co's all over the world are now chasing growth which makes consolidation/mergers etc an inevitability - VOD will play a big part in this imo, especially at this price. gla dyor etc

mands down less than a penny at the close - all in all a good performance - I think retailers are going to have a good Christmas judging from the latest retail sales figures - my guess is that the numbers are being buoyed by foreign visitors taking advantage of the drop in the pound and brits who will be staying here and spending over the Christmas period rather than booking an expensive holiday abroad due to the pound - and this is only going to increase as we get closer to Christmas imo - mands latest shoes and clothing range look pretty good and are getting good reports in the press - my wife has just come back from Bluewater and she said there were large queues in Marks - not just for food but for clothes - if this is a sign of things to come over the next few weeks then the mands share price is going to look like it is way way oversold - I am feeling VERY confident going forward - good weekend all dyor etc

given mands strong performance yesterday - finishing almost level when they should have gone down 6.8p minimum - I think, barring any major economical events we may have seen the bottom? - your thoughts are welcome dyor etc

depends if you are a trader or an investor Scot - the share price will drop tomorrow due to the dividend and if there is another sell off in the US as there seems to be today then this loss could be exacerbated so traders may be tempted to short it - I am an investor however and have bought this share continuously on weakness and I will reinvest the dividends back into the share - I am not too worried about short term fluctuations - I am confident in the new management strategy and confident the share will rise - I am looking for £4.00 in three to four months. dyor etc

will be interesting to see how many other brokers change their stance on marks as citigroup have just done - good sign this going forward - ex-divi on Thursday so a pull back there but after that onwards and upwards I think - sticking with my 4 quid target early New Year. gla dyor etc

at 318.7 - hopefully the dust will settle on the election and stabilise - no brainer for me at this price - bank for dividend reinvest in mands rinse repeat etc etc dyor
