its a fair point you have made AAS - The most accurate being your last comment - "Beware the agile discounters, Tesco, they're out to get you." - This is the reason I am heavily invested in TSCO - market share ALWAYS wins in the end - Dave Lewis knew this when he took the job - it is economies of scale - when you sell more you can command more margin from suppliers - the consumer wins and so does TSCO - A win win situation which is why the BKR deal will be agreed - once this goes through I think you will find this share going north big time and a lot of pain to come for the LADS DYOR ETC

not sure if you are referring to me IS but if you read my post again I didn't go long - I BOUGHT RMG shares for the dividend which I got - buying is not the same as going long on a spread bet (the spread bet doesn't qualify for the dividend) - the dividend more or less offset the loss and the short made me plenty - you are clueless in terms of understanding trading - so stick to what you know best - waving that red flag and 70's politics - it is you and your cronies who are ******* yourselves and your company up - still you know best - keep up the strikes buddy and I will keep taking my money from the short

The answer to your question is because it is legal and you are whipping yourself into a frenzy over nothing - if it were illegal and people were still doing it then it is a problem - like I said, that is the way the stock market works so just accept it and move on -

hey tubby - I actually invested in BUYING RMG - But I always short on IG as a hedge when things start getting turbulent in ANY of the shares I invest in - in that way I win both ways - I lost out initially on the buy but more than made up for it on the short - not a good idea to demonise ALL people who short when they are protecting their investments - DYOR ETC

need big leaders who understand that getting the basics right matter - economies of scale will then take care of the rest - Lewis understands this and did it at Unilever - a simple but effective process of keeping staples such as milk, bread, fruit and veg cost-effective takes away the rug from underneath Lidl/Aldi - and if you sell more of this stuff you still increase your margin due to economies of scale - this is just the beginning for Tesco and the beginning of the end for Lidl/Aldi - 2 quid easy short term and if the Booker deal comes off then 250p plus - gla dyor etc

The game is up for Aldi and Lidl - they are only effective when their prices are way below what else is on offer - Dave Lewis has got their number - very little difference now in Tesco staples compared to A and L - So the option is do you go to A and L where you cant guarantee that they will have all the items you want, where you queue for a long time and where the items you buy are launched at breakneck speed and the check out and you can pay by cash only for this service - that is what my local Aldi is like - no, I will stick to Tesco as will many others where I CAN get all the items I want, I don't have to queue and I can pay by credit card - I think this will be shown in the upcoming results - Dave Lewis destroyed the opposition when he was at Unilever and he is about to do it again imo. dyor etc

I wouldn't sell - retail sales figures out today smashed analysts expectations up by 1pct - the sterling factor has been factored in imo - if it hadn't been then retail sales would have been flat today - next beat profit estimates easily a few days ago - mks results due 8th Nov - food is as we all know exceptionally good - clothing is improving according to Mrs C who never buys anything but food in MKS - she bought 3 tops recently and was very impressed with quality and cost - I have bought all the way down to just over 3 quid (Archie Norman bought 10k recently) - I think that tells you all you need to know. dyor etc

on the back of Next which had better than expected results today - Retail section massively oversold imo - said it on here many times - onwards and upwards for MKS DYOR ETC

I said on the 19th July that shorts were closing on TSCO - This is the reason why - big institutions are not stupid - they can see how TSCO is gaining market share under DL - I am sticking with my 200p target although I think it could come sooner rather than later - if the divi is paid this will go north of 200p pdq. gla dyor etc
