on retail sales - 1.4pct against an expected 0.4pct - add to this a resilient performance from Next = massive gain atm for MKS - 11p up and rising - it could go higher fuelled by short sellers bailing out - lets hope so gla dyor etc

I did think about offloading 50pct of my holding this morning but decided against it - VOD was trading at 215p just before the Indian issues were announced and prior to that in November it was trading around 227p - the merger makes VOD stronger so I am looking at 215p plus - add Liberty into the mix and we must be talking north of 230p surely dyor etc

if it merges with Liberty - I bought in at 191p and I am thinking of cashing in part of my holding but I have heard some guestimates as high as 240p in terms of a merger - thoughts appreciated please

as far as I am aware all MKS food halls have a café - The idea is to sell more of what sells and improve what doesn't sell as well - simple idea but very effective me thinks - time will tell dyor etc

retail not the flavour of the month atm - I think the market has overreacted as they did with the house builders when Brexit was announced and their shares plummeted only to recover and make huge gains - at the end of the day though no matter what happens with Brexit, people still have to eat and put clothes on their backs - this is a long term play for me, always has been unless we get to the point where I am making a substantial capital gain (c30pct+) at which point I will sell - but for now I will bank the dividend at around 5pct yield back into MKS and keep topping up on the dips. good weekend all dyor etc

from VOD - was negative with around 10 minutes to go till the close and ended up 1.8p - anyone know why???? dyor etc

still one good thing if it keeps going down is I will get my reinvested dividend at a good price tomorrow ktf

as I said to Picket yesterday, profit taking after a nice bit of upward momentum - the profit taking looks like it is well and truly over this morning - vod now at 210p and rising - gla dyor etc

no I am still in as per my previous post - I don't day trade though, purely invest over a short/medium term and will reinvest divi back into VOD in Feb - happy to stay in as I still think the share is cheap and will buy more if it goes below £2.00 - target 220p for me gla dyor etc.

little bit of profit taking I suspect Picket - only to be expected, given the recent rise - personally I am sticking with it all the way to my 220p target and reinvesting the divi on the 3rd Feb - time will tell if I am right or not but I am quietly confident dyor etc
