I have noticed during recent trading that vod is coming down as the market comes down, but not in percentage terms by as much as it was before the results were announced - I think funds are topping up on the dips here to secure the dividend payment - I can see this moving North a bit more pre divi

Poker - shorts went up recently on the back of anticipated retail figures, other retail outlets going bust etc etc etc - that is how fund managers shorting make their money, by looking down the line and factoring in depressed sentiment - the cat is out of the bag with mks however - plenty of money in reserve and Ocado online in September and nobody leaving the UK till next year - so more money being spent on food/clothes going forward in the UK - I have added all the way down on mks which now makes up over 10pct of my portfolio - I am VERY confident going forward with this share and will continue to add if it falls

Just had a quick look at the closing price - up 11pct at 95.2p - nice - I bet that made a mess of some short positions today - could be a big reversal here as short positions close - let's see what tomorrow brings

Poker - I read that as we want a reduction from the landlord, if the landlord says no then we close the store down, simple as that - this is a business at the end of the day, no point in running stores at a loss

I think markets will take their queue from the Ocado potential, not undershoot on profits - we will see

Hi GZK - Marks will essentially be taking over from Waitrose - their customers via Ocado mostly have full shops delivered - Marks will have that capability from September and will be able to undercut Waitrose due to the Ocado mechanics which reduces the requirement for people to source, stack and package the deliveries - Ocado still have a pipeline of customers waiting for a slot for home delivery to be filled - Marks food is widely regarded as the best food in the UK - So I see no reason why someone would rather have Waitrose and pay more, rather than having Marks/Ocado and pay less

I have added MKS all the way down and will continue to add if they fall again this week - their food is the best in the UK no question - this will come to the fore when the Ocado deal goes through in September and the UK public are now already primed for home delivery service due to the cv issue -

scamp - yes it has occurred to me just as it has with your comments - I am responding to quotes by other members with my honest opinion just the same as you are, but I have not expressed a distaste of your comments to date as you have with mine - that in itself makes you look stupid - still if you feel the need to big yourself up and act like some sort of judiciary on who can say what and when they can say it keep going matey -

Correct PP - I would be more than happy to give all posties a pay rise - the work they do is second to none and I for one am very appreciative of the service they provide - they are however working in a private sector industry now and the buck stops at profit made - unions need to accept this, agree to the restructuring of the company and move on - the alternative is Nationalisation which under a Labour Gov would be an enticing prospect - under a Tory Gov I think not - they will simply smash the unions like they did with the mining, print etc etc - better to work towards the streamlining of the company now and pay increases will follow from increased profit - rather than get into a battle with the Gov -

anyone who was short on vod today has taken the mother of all good hidings - well done to all the lth's on here like myself who have stuck with this share during the recent turbulent times - my pre dinner gin and tonic will taste just that little bit better tonight.

Nice tick up today as I predicted this morning, exceeding my 5pct rise atm - good thing here is the share is making progress on the ftse dips - probably shorts closing before they get damaged some more - good signs here going forward -

I think the market is seeing the vm/o2 merger as positive for BT in that telecom consolidation is long overdue - this deal assuming it goes through in effect makes the other competitors, BT VOD etc targets as it sets a precedence - plenty of money out there at the moment looking for a place to be put - and the only way to grow going forward is mergers and takeovers - the vm/02 merger is in itself proof of that.

I see no reason whatsoever why this share shouldn't rise today - bad news already priced in - debt not an issue, around 27pct of market cap - I am looking for at least a 5pct uptick today - subject to market conditions of course

CITIGROUP RAISES ROYAL MAIL TO 'BUY' (SELL) - PRICE TARGET 210 (150) PENCE - that is a pretty bullish price target but I will take it all day long - fund managers starting to wake up and realise this share is grossly undervalued - gla onwards and upwards

Hey Fruitster - done the right thing re blocking matey - as an independent onlooker the criticism you have taken has been harsh to say the least - I have known you on this board and discussed several shares with you for some time, and I can honestly say that you have shown integrity in the words you have spoken - yes you have got things wrong, as I have and many have on this board, especially in recent turbulent times but that shouldn't be confused with knowing nothing about micro/macro economics which clearly you do - have a good weekend and stay safe
