Sainsburys loss will be our gain Gio - as the cost effectiveness of Ocado robots outweigh the manual labour costs of pickers/packagers etc MKS will eat into the deliveries of Sainsburys on price and at the end of the day if you have a choice to eat ANY food in the UK it will be MKS all day long

Good results all round BUT this could be affected by macro economics today - us elections will play a part - ftse futures already down 1.3pct -Next had cracking results a few days ago and went up big initially only to finish red due to macro economic events - I will be adding on the dips today

Way too many macro economic factors for MKS and other shares to cope with atm - brexit, covid, us elections et al - good thing for MKS though is they are still in the game, that in itself presents opportunities - I am adding to my holding as MKS falls

shorts have took a beating today and will take more next week imo - Lloyds have done big big business with housing starts as have Halifax, I know this for a fact as I am in the business - some lenders are doing more mortgages a week than they were when house prices were booming years ago and they are taking advantage of this by edging rates up - 40p plus imo before Christmas

As companies like Netflix see subscriber numbers dwindle the only way to grow is takeovers and mergers - it is the same with the telecoms industry, far too many players - ITV is a massive target imo - been adding to this on the dips - if Britbox makes any sort of inroads into the US this company will be taken out pdq -

Bid in for Talk Talk today, just shows how undervalued UK telecom stocks are atm - anyone thinking of shorting vod right now needs to think very carefully - if there is any sort of brexit deal this is going north good style

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the shorts closed out their positions around the low 90's - some of them reduced sub 100p so it improves their overall long average going forward which makes sense - time will tell of course

Aye, MKS decimating their food offering, which in turn creates job losses, add to that no bonus for the first time since 1953 and you bet they are not smiling - lots to smile about at MKS atm though - for every loser there is a winner and JL just lost.

Fleccy - I was looking over some reuters news last night with US Brokers commenting on the dow drop last night and the nasdaq fall - most comments were reiterating your view in that a corner is now being turned from tech growth to value stocks with fund managers looking to distribute towards value stocks going forward - europe is so undervalued compared to the us with the uk being even more undervalued - I can see a massive shift into uk stocks if we get any sort of brexit deal pre xmas

Hi Marcus - to clarify all in on the max percentage of my portfolio for one share - 25pct of it is now in BT - some may say that is too much to have in one share in ones portfolio, but no pain no gain as they say - I can wait a long time for this to turn around - 5 years to be precise so as I said, not too concerned atm.

Easy to mark down UK shares atm - brexit, covid et al - MKS caught up with the rest of the UK market - some crazy valuations on UK stocks right now - I will be looking to add if it falls much more
