RE: Food keeps growing17 Jul 2020 14:20
Valueplay - bottom line here is cost to distribute food which Ocado through robots can do cheaper than ANY competitor in the UK that currently distributes food as there are less in the way of human costs, - pickers, shelf stackers et al - Ocado currently have 1.6pct of the UK market - Waitrose will no longer have that option from 31st August, neither will Tesco, Sainsbury's etc etc - all these companies will be targeted with better food at cost effective prices, now let me see if I have the option of paying more for Waitrose than Marks food with less choice at my disposal, or if I can pay the same as Tesco for Marks food what will I choose? - the answer will be marks as it does the best food in the UK - that is why marks will be north of £1.50 by the end of this year barring any more macro economic disasters.
