DaveWin makes fair points. Councillors are not experts on mineral extraction but have the responsibility to take decisions. They do this by relying on the reports of the planning officers and their interpretation of law of the land. There are opinions but in the end they are supposed to judge on the basis of the evidence in front of them and not unsubstantiated rumours.

The article (which is hidden behind a paywall so I can’t see it) appears so soon after the excellent results from HH and in the same week as the Surrey CC planning committee when Angus is on the agenda. This is surely a co-incidence.

You would do well to bone up on the difference between income tax and capital gains tax. It is basic stuff but in your best interests.

It is interesting that Solo are including an open offer for part of their fundraising. If UKOG had done this there might have been less angst from existing shareholders that some new investors were getting a good deal and the rest of us were on the sidelines seeing the price fall and the dilution. One can but hope that SS can learn from Solo. Treat shareholders fairly and they will go with you.

Surely share prices are based on future prospects not just current revenues or state of play. In UKOG's case they are opening a world of opportunity and investors are looking ahead.

Johnny Very good summary of the loan conversions and goes to show the impact on PIs. Hopefully we won't get into a financial state where we need a repeat of borrowing from such characters. He knew what they were like when he did the deal which is why the agreement banned shorting. I would like to think SS has learned from that. Hopefully most of the conversion shares have now gone and we can look forward with confidence.

Switching with other shares is often a gamble as you miss the initial rise and there’s the spread and costs to think about. I have taken the view that I am better off sticking with my eggs in the one basket and not trying to be clever as I never am.

Totally agree with jungerns. This is following the adage of buy on rumour sell on news. It is a good churn which will help set a new price level. There is a very long way to go and I for one feel confident in the man in charge.

Why would you get an RNS to say a placing has cleared? Unless I have misunderstood your message of course as it isn’t exactly clear. Full stops help now and again.

I don’t see the point of this. People are entitled to different opinions whether you like it or not. The company will issue an RNS when it has something worthwhile to say.

I agree with etquitte that this bb is for more than one opinion. Personally I can have two opposing opinions within an hour depending on the share price and the world out there.

What I do find pathetic is for a message header intended to confuse, not helped by replies which repeat the same header. So here is a new thread, different header, non specific, to change the record.

I wasn’t aware of AIM rules around investing status. A bit offbeat here but bear with me.
I do wonder whether there could be a positive impact for Inheritance Tax purposes for we Brits. Under IHT rules as I understand it shares in certain AIM companies are considered to be unquoted and don’t count towards IHT if you hold them for 2 years and at the date of death.

The significance of UKOG’s change is that investment companies are excluded from that benefit and count towards your assets at death. This change in status away from an investing company might well mean that UKOG becomes investable for the first time for people and trusts seeking to minimise IHT by buying qualifying AIM shares.There are quite a few institutions which run funds which do just that and they would be able to buy the shares when the change takes place. Equally they can’t buy them at present so a new market opens up.

I have been wracking my brains to work out why the company would go to the trouble of changing its status and think this could be one of those reasons. Have a good day!

I am not sure where you get your share numbers. Yesterday it was 250m, I agree. But listing today is 100m relating to the £2 placing at 2p a share.

This is mad. It is a technical change to reflect how the company is to be viewed under AIM rules ie as a producer. There is absolutely nothing else to read into it at all and as for suspension that is a load of cobblers. To use Doubleheadedcoin’s monicker.. IMO, though everyone’s comments are exactly that anyway.

I see this status change as merely a technical move for AIM, and therefore seamless. Consolidation, no. That’s not related and not needed.
