mike- i don't believe he has blown it yet.....but as every month goes on there is the danger that he might- do you not think?
test situation could change or other companies get the piece of the pie - see the three new contracts awarded ODX need this contract - the rest of their portfolio sells nothing and they have no experience of selling in these new "key" markets. colin needs to feel the pressure to get the deal done
or you can just keeping rocking back n forth on your heels muttering "in colin we trust" " £big things" £busy busy busy" "must be doing something"
pilgrim - they are "in "the position to get the deal over the line.
So why do you think it is taking so long?
is it natural to talk for over 3 months with an approved company who want their product out there in a pandemic? and i am guessing/ hoping that ODX want to be "busy " making and selling something
john - i am beginning to wonder how much we can really blame the gov? they have awarded a contract and after a very long delay introduced ODX to approved 3rd parties. so whilst the hold up between feb and june were down to gov - the last 3 months would seem to be fairly in ODX hands. the gov are awarding new contracts so they are looking for tests....unfortunately colin is still intent on talking and being optimistic FFS i still believe he is playing chicken and trying to get a better price - with the hope that the odx test might get approval in the meantime. however dragging on could blow the whole thing - there is a pandemic unless he hasn't realised and others will happily grab the cash
at this stage i just want him to get over the line - they can then concentrate for his new "key" markets for more profitable arrangements
c'mon colin....tick tock...don't blow it.....don't be known as the man who could not sell a test in a pandemic
bigbangs - i saw clearly where you were coming from. i was just adding my thoughts. it is refreshing to be able to talk about it without someone on either extreme shouting "conspiracy theorist/anti vax" or "sheeple following everything gov say"....
i am in the middle....concerned over virus and possible long term implications of vaccines. i was very aware of the thalidomide generation
i think that the covid vaccine will follow pretty much like a flu vaccine - in having to be updated every year and no guarantee that you still wont catch it
bigbangs - good post. i have very mixed feelings on vax. i reluctantly took az as it is vector based and was not going to take anything mRNA based. it is too early to tell of any long term side effects and there have been too many reports of adverse reactions. i really don't think vaccinating children who would seem to be at little risk a good thing.
booster jabs would mainly seem to be mRNA based and I am not keen. personally now i am vaccinated i think i would prefer to catch a mild dose and have some naturally forming antibodies
i do hope antibody tests whether yes/no or strip coloured to indicate degree become freely available - and it would be great if ours were used. i just hope that the gov don't look at the pfaffle to get ODX to finalise talks on the antigen test and decide to go elsewhere - to someone who can
mrindia - I don't blame the rampy fairies as they are trying to convince themselves and also encourage others who read these boards to buy...etc they are fed the waffle and jam by colin "cant sell a test in a pandemic" - keeps him in a salary. instead of having ago at us maybe they would be better getting on colin's case.
next two weeks going to be interesting - if colin does not close the deal then its october
SAD F I have a better idea - skip my posts or filter - actually if you filter you could then make a big song and dance about it - like some of your compadres - as if anyone is remotely interested.
i am not going away or changing my tune until there are some very long overdue sales
sad f - ask him what? he can only say what is in the RNS...... and we know from that they have sold nothing. Still waiting and talking and waiting and talking and waiting and talking
ODX can still come good..but they need to get the discussions finished and start producing. if they had been producing 3 months ago when these talks started they might have been eyeing up an additional gov contract by now.....or in any case a lot sooner. i still don't believe in their ability to sell in EU or USA. they haven't sold in china/africa/uk - so I don't see any indication of a good sales team
Being honest I don't care if mologic is considered gold std or not...just need some sales.
Innova was pony standard as we all know and they got £3b...
There will be demand for lft for at least 6 months as we go into the peak season and the gov are still issuing free tests. Question is do odx want some of it ? If they do then they need to conclude these talks because otherwise some one else will gladly take our share..as demonstrated by the three recent contracts on bidstacks.
Ball is in your court Colin...do you want to sell or not? Or you can make excuses about other key markets.
sledge - i agree that the booster will not be as popular.....especially if the majority will be mRNA based. it is interesting that before the majority got jabbed it was all great...and afterwards the message seems to be proving how short a time it protects you. guess more money for big pharma
i agree with twatcher that you have to compare with % of population vaccinated....as the more that are vaccinated then the more cases in hospital of vaccinated relative to unvaccinated as their number in total population goes down
the issue is that "it is always a huge opportunity" for ODX.....or a "key market". however they never sell anything covid or anything much of the rest of their portfolio.
