my understanding is that faced with the threats of big global countries leaving - the russians have said ..fine if you decide to leave we will take it back for zero. tbh given the circumstances you can undetstand their stance.

there is a lot of virtue signalling at the moment - wonder if it will be effected once the losses of billions is fully realised. not just current assets but future earnings?

at some point we will be pushed into a global recession - is the west going to care that much about a couple of bits in ukraine? best thing is a quick peace deal to save lives - give them the the contentious parts and lets end it.
the west need to think how they deal with russia trade in future...i thought covid might lead to more independence from china but that has not seemed to happen

i think both are good and if stay listed will multi bag with time The RA link with evraz prob makes them a bit more above the radar.
hopefully peace talks will continue and the sanctions on russia will ease up

I topped up yesterday morning but has been impossible since - yet they will take all my shares.

frustrating but a very good sign - as it would seem to be only going one way at the moment. by stopping buying they are putting the brakes on - but it just means it will blow at some point

i don't think so - not something i have ever been accused of before. but i will reflect on that.

i do admit as I get older to having to find a subject interesting as well as the person discussing it . I do not feel the need to prove myself in an argument so much.

unfortunately you did rather lose me once you started character assassination. It is quite clear your enjoy race baiting and your style of argument is very reflective of that type of stance. There is usually little to be gained or learnt in arguing with someone like that. in addition I do not class it as a sign of someone being intellectually "fit"

unfortunately it also does little for race relations in my view - but often i suspect this is not really the agenda anyway

i can accept that the market does not have an idea or where ncyt will get future revenue from - hopefully things will be clearer in april. however the drop would seem to me to be a combination of covid stock having lost all their "sexiness" and the small matter of a war going on..the casual investor will be scared off.....to extrapolate that they will fritter their war chest away? I am not so sure.....they showed their agility and vision in profiteering from covid . OK there may not be another similar opportunity around the corner - but i would not write them off just yet.

Without being there and observing I can't really make an informed decision. It is interesting that those who are often the first to criticise the masm.of distorting facts ...are usually happy to rely on and quote them as a source when they support their stance.

Personally I do not take anything in the press too seriously these days. George floyd lawyers quite possibly / probably make a living out of trying to find racism whether it exists or not..if it were someone else then that would hold more weight for me personally

I don't doubt there is racism but I suspect that it is a complex situation.
It might be easy in certain cases to see it as a ****** situation when there might be reasonable doubt.

i suspect the fact that as any men between 18-60 is required to stay - the priority on transport out goes to the women and children of those staying to fight....a friend of mine calls it a blood oath train. it is part of the deal, you defend your country with your life knowing that your family is safe. invariably the majority will be white

bottom line is that i guess most of the world's population would still prefer to live in the west rather than russia. i think ukraine certainly does.

the history of the world has always been about the game of empires. woke navel gazing is a self made first world problem - and we have had a timely reminder that dismantling the "patriarchy" (and i use the term flippantly here ) ultimately leads us vulnerable against our enemies. my hope is that their is a reset on fossil fuel energy independence and a recognition of however bad you may feel the west is - we possibly reached peak comfort and safety a few years ago - it is now up to us if we want to throw that away on the woke altar and how quickly

it is interesting because covid has shown the blue print that the next war will probably be more effectively fought on economic lines - assuming no country wants to nuke the world out of existence- and these sanctions are the next test .

i do wonder what china is watching and learning from this. i am guessing as always the one staying out and preparing for later is the ultimate winner. they will happily move in on any industry deserted by western companies.
they will be preparing for if they should ever be put in a similar situation - eg taiwan is still awaiting as is their entire global domination strategy

i hear this argument and whilst he might not like it - what are the chances that nato are going to suddenly launch an invasion into russia? .....zero.

he saw weakness with usa over afghanistan and the west generally chaing its woke tail... and has taken his chance to get a strategic corridor to crimea.
where he has come a cropper is the global financial sanctions. everyone has been surprised on the extent of solidarity.

Putin is certainly between a rock and a hard place. he can't afford to lose face but at the same time if the situation carries on for much longer then the russian economy will collapse and he runs the threat of a coup or assassination in my view.
the moscow stock exchange can't open or it will collapse. interests rates have i believe increased to 20%. the rouble is disintegrating ..he has demanded 80% of foreign currency off businesses ..airline industry will be on its knees. how much are the russian people going to be willing to take for a bit of ukraine.

i suspect he agreed a ceasefire to get civilians out so he could bomb cities to pieces and try to speed up the end game...at the same time looking humanitarian internationally...
he needs the war over quick and sanctions lifted.

i suspect at this stage he will settle for the north /east parts he has and all along the black sea up to moldavia. he looks victorious and the west will have avoided war. ukraine will be landlocked and weakened but still exist as a country.

if this continues and russia goes bankrupt it is going to be a global recession - we just avoided it with covid but this will be the tipping point. it is ok all these companies saying they want out of russia but it is going to seriously affect their finances.

I think this week will be pivotal. the egg timer has been turned on for the russians

tbh whilst it would be nice if NCYT did come out and communicate something that would boost SP - I personally think that releasing any great news at this time would be a waste. We would get a spike like 20% which would get sold into straightaway and the opportunity would be lost. much rather in a a few weeks time when the ukrainian situation is hopefully resolved one way or the other. the ceasefire and civilian evacuation should hopefully signal a catalyst for an end whether by peace talks or an unthinkable alternative

it is murphy's law that the perfect storm has hit NCYT yet again. just as we were getting exciting with bio - a war starts...FFS
the market is understandably all over the place. The SP is a reflection. could it go to £1.20? - yes. but the real question is what is the med- long term trajectory?

sooner or later the market will look to steady and reboot itself. It is hard to see NCYT as anything other than a huge opportunity at this price. OK that does not mean as much to LTH heavily under water. However when it does calm down i think bio will be back buying and we will soon know our future direction

for sure there will be money to be made in this conflict . just a question of choosing correctly.

i think there is a good case for punt money in poly/pog/evraz. very high risk and you might lose everything....however if/when the dust settles the finance world will want part of russia again. these could easily multibag from here just trying to get back to asset value.

i suspect the biggest crime one can claim against the bod is not selling anything of any of their portfolio in anywhere in the world..and not looking interrsted in doing so.
a lot could be explained by incompetence.
also speaking with forked tongue - though i suspect they left enough ambiguity to cover themselves.

of course they will blame everybody else - market in covid times for non covid portfolio/ gov for covid test / leak on placing etc etc
