Atan - i think what also gets missed, is that odx would have had to pay the pre production payment back anyway. it was supposed to be paid back via profits on tests produced
so the argument that somehow they produced nothing and are entitled to this now free (tax payers) money for nothing is null and void. they need to pay it back and as there was no profits to write it off against - it will need to be cash back
i still think the gov will enjoy being seen to pursue companies for money splashed out during the pandemic. it is just unfortunate that again the only ones suffering being pursued are the british companies - as they have power over them. the real culprits seem to be foreign (brown envelope) agents - where the gov have no chance (or desire?) to look into.
if odx can get away with a negotiated deal - of say half..that would be a great result,
unfortunately the gov now know they now have cash in bank to pay it back.
unfortunately the irony is that by having cash the gov may be more willing to get it back than if it had bankrupted the company
