Anybody here able to shed more light on the ASH water cut problem?

For H1 2021 average production, I see 2,730 boepd, while FY 2021 guidance is 2,100-2,300 boepd.

If I assume FY 2021 guidance of 2,100, that tells me that H2 2021 must be only around 1,470 boepd.

I didn't say that. My own knowledge about BTC is rudimentary.

MS is wedded to BTC... If he was confident that it would rise on its own, he wouldn't pumping it the whole time. I listen to the guy, but I rarely hear anything new. It's just the same old waffle.

I see BTC being here for a very long time. But I'm not obsessed by it, just like I'm not obsessed by gold, copper, natural gas or lumber. They're all the same to me - driven by supply-and-demand. If there's limited demand, the price drops. It's that simple. BTC is not going to break the rules of supply-and-demand like some thing it will.

Short-term could get worse and I'll be hanging back before adding more; 140p is my next buy point, if it gets there, or else stick with what I have. Shorters can't continue forever as they'll also want to ride this up. It's a nasty game they're playing...

The lower it goes, the more profits that I eventually see being made here.

UK investors don't like UK companies... Foreign investors love them and are constantly buying them. the grass is always greener elsewhere! I've added another wad. Nice divi as well!

FYI: I would not ever try to day-trade CPI as I don't have the skills to do it and the odds are stacked overwhelmingly against it. For my modest skillset, it's a position-trade. I'll now keep an eye out to add some more at a rebound - but that could be months away. The lower it goes - the better.

@Jules: I always like hearing true statement, no matter how good or bad they are. As long as they're true.

I totally admit that this share is a dog. I've always said that... Anybody who has looked at the daily stock returns of this company over the past 2y will know that it's one of the most volatile UK stocks. e.g. there was a drop of 38% and a rise of 31%. That says that it's not a share to buy and expect a gradual 1% monthly rise...

Today is the pits. But I don't see anything that makes me want to sell it... that's the situation when you're trading distressed companies. It's not like trading a breakout on Tesla or Apple. It's like a US penny stock...

Pre-covid was 150p. Current price is 37p. Fundamentals are now better and I'm not the slightest bit concerned about bankruptcy.

In terms of trading, CPI compares to a US penny stock. It's not something that you can easily trade from charts, tight stops etc. I think strategy would consistently lose money. It's a recovery play and I think it's more suited to a medium to long-term hold for a large percentage gain - that's just my view and I might be 100% wrong.

I was disappointed with the announcement today, but I don't see anything that causes me concern. I have about 90k shares and will sit it out and add at the lows, perhaps 30p or so, if it gets there, depending on what happens over the next few months.

What is always worth remembering is that 90% of traders lose money. Roughly speaking - if you're doing what 90% of a board does - you're most likely losing money! You will see confirmation of that statistic on LSE on a daily basis when people panic-sell shares that they think will 'never recover'.

As I've said many times here, this share can be very volatile - that's why it's been profitable to trade... have traded it many times, never lost a single penny. I 'thought' the news would be better this time - WRONG! but does not change my outlook at all. It will stay volatile and continue offering good trading opportunities!

Pre-covid it was 150p and the turn-aropund has progressed since then. In the meantime, lots of unprepared people will be scared out by shorters as has been happening since Feb 2020... As Warren Buffett says, the Stock market is a mechanism for transferring wealth from the impatient to the patient!

The volatility of this share always surprises. Can't ever get my head around it...

Not hugely inspiring, but the business is in a better shape than a year ago, significantly better than 2y ago, while share price is much lower. I'll hang back, will add significantly once the dust settles. I've learned not ever to rush in with CPI... I' expected most UK shares to be down today.

It's very simple. If miners sold all of their HODL, it would depress the market, hence they should never do it! Yes, it's total nonsense and a 'new paradigm'. I've ceased trying to think of it that way. I don't think it's even helpful in trading...

I got suspicious of the whole charade within a few weeks of trading miners, but I don't think it's going to ever disappear. It's a form of gambling, where you can have an edge, copmared to poker or any other games of pure chance. I now disregard most of the BTC commentators, which mostly just exist to generate YouTube ad revenue!

I don't think even MS understands that the price of BTC is set by speculators and they are interested in one thing only. I don't buy this 'hold forever nonsense'.

I think BTC itself is incredible, but people should be under no illusion about its value, which is what somebody else is prepared to pay you for it, like a baseball card, piece of art etc.

I'll start to get interested if it breaks $51k and increase my position if it gets over $53k. If it falls below $50k again, it's a very bad sign.

@L3Trader: Interesting when you compare IOF against some of its peers in the specialist chemical space, e.g. Elementis, which trades on a forward P/E of 14.1, vs Iofina on forward P/E of 6.3. It's hard to argue that IOF is currently expensive. I think it's having a bad time currently because of the poor sentiment in the UK market generally. FYI: Elementis 'is the 'winner' in that Stocko comparison.

I think it's because a lot of small players have coded there own algos to use those DMA functions after 'Flash Crash' and that Haim Bodek video were published...

To be perfectly honest, it's the shorters that have provided this excellent opportunity... They could drive it down further - yes. But at some stage, it's not going down any further. On the other hand, they might just get it totally wrong, like many did with VW.
