hyperinflation is something else, prices double for food in a week or less, and there are few physical us dollars in country, basically you get your wages in local currency and try to change into us dollars as fast as you can. No dollars bitcoin works very well, they spend it that week or month. Shops sell food in parts of a bitcoin.
Argentina has annual inflation of 80% every year, the get their wages and run round the corner to get paper US, they pay 2 to 3 times the official rate.
There are plenty of paper dollars
Ordinary people don't invest in bonds they buy food and pay rent.
El salvador is something else they have made it official, the other countries i have mentioned it is in the grey market.
It's interesting because it frees people from using the local currency when it degrades so fatst
BTW the world record for Hyperinflation is Hungary in 1946, i started looking at it a bit more after reading the article
