The current market preoccupation with the banking sector together with reaction to the latest EIA data seems to have caused a perfect storm for the sp.

A marked divergence between Shel and OP began late last July as Shel’s sp continued to strengthen despite a fall in OP from its $120+ peak:

Shel does still track Brent despite this drift apart, during which Brent has fallen by about $33. Recently the tracking has been strong and I would therefore suggest keeping a close eye on Brent pricing, which has gained nearly $2 since the LSE closed today. It will trade further overnight and I reckon the difference in OP between 16.30 this afternoon and 08.00 tomorrow could influence Shel’s sp by about 30p per $1 move in Brent. However, no one knows where OP will be by 08.00.

Given the carnage across much of the market today, the impact on OCDO was relatively mild. Surely it was an ideal day for shorters to push down harder?

Brent touched $77 tonight - last time it did that, in December, Shel was around 2300.
Things have changed since then but 2360 is still a realistic possibility if that OP is maintained for a while.

Both the FTSE 100 and Nasdaq indices have risen by about 12% since OCDO ‘s last closing ‘bottom’, at 393, on12th October. Today, OCDO is also about 12% above 393.
OCDO’s circumstances have arguably not worsened compared to the wider market since that particular nadir.
So, although 390 seemed the natural destination for the latest downward move, it might just build from today's close -its penultimate support of 440

I hit my buy-back target for a tranche I recently sold near the peak so I’ve topped back up this morning, however I think it’s likely to go lower and would add another tranche if it became particularly attractive.

Where is OCDO's cash deposited?

When investing it's a good idea to tune into a variety of views provided they are well expressed and rational.
People who dismiss the negatives by name calling without offering a credible contra-argument are useless- I can think of a few of them here.
I look for cogent argument and analysis - not uninformed rampers, derampers and 'believers'
Shorters can provide an interesting view on sp direction - and they share a common interest with long-term holders because both are assessing potential bottom limits/top-up points.
I gather Valueplay has a history in terms of being a past investor in OCDO - he provides consistently interesting comments I am free to consider and, if I choose, dismiss.
If he says something you disagree with, sexykiwi, then - if you can - explain why to the rest of us. Merely suggesting he's a shorter is neither useful nor interesting. And what if he is? It's not a crime to be a shorter and the sp is hardly likely to be affected by a few posts here that earn just one or two 'likes'.

The volume for Friday is given by Investing,com as 3.815m of which, according to this site, 1.734m was in the auction (UT) and 0.834m was traded during nearly two hours of further trading, with a maximum price of around 468 during that after hours period, 0.5m of which was a single trade at 16.59.46 .

So it appears that only a third of Friday's volume was traded up to the closing auction whilst 20% was listed after the auction. The volume of trades after the 16.30 close was apparently equivalent to the current average total for a whole day’s trading.

As Ocado groups cash depletes I see a good chance of them being bought out by a competitor cheaply....
Cash on the balance sheet is no protection from TO - the acquiring company acquires it.
