Hmmm. A quick glance over the SP chart for the last 12 months, plus today's total of 2 trades so far suggests that no one's snuffling up anything here. I have no idea why it's nt to buy, but the facts suggest it's not due to a flood of buying pressure.

In the one hand it's good that they're looking at an alternative MO because the current one is a long and drawn out fail. On the other hand the board have shown such massive incompetence in the few years I've been invested that it's hard to trust that they're capable of making the right calls in the future, whatever they may be.

i'm with JoeBloggs on this one, I have available funds but no way would I put it in here I've lost enough as it is. Averaging down is all well and good but that only works if you're pretty sure the SP will recover and in this case I'm really not sure it will. We're stuck in that shifting baseline situation where you convince yourself it's the bottom but then thinking back you convinced yourself of that at .06, .04, .03 etc etc. A board that doesn't communicate well if at all, makes investments by mistake, has chosen almost entirely poor companies to put it's money in to and who have rolled the dice on one big pharma play means I'll not put another penny in here until the SGSC situation is clarified, it's just a punt until then.

I'm calling bu11**** on this one - just some blert on twitter carrying on about something that they can't possibly know anything more about than the rest of us. Still, passes the time I suppose.

well Intheknow2023 seems like quite an excitable sort, worth a browse through their twitter feed for amusement value alone. Igraine BOD members stepping down due to conflict of interest / commercialisation being announced imminently / phase 3 trials etc etc. sounds like wishful thinking to me but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong

well that's the big question isn't it, will the SGSC and Igraine investment save us? Personally I don't think it will but that may just be because I've been ground down over the last 2 years of Board silence, poor decisions and false dawns. The Lancet thing the other day was good to see, that's a proper grown up medical journal so that was a tiny bit of encouragement but overall I can't see how this is ever gong to make me any money, average is just too high. The only benefit is that it's made me much more cautious of where I put my money since, in to less volatile shares. Funnily enough I've made some £ off them....

Oh gawd, a new low. I just can't see how the slide can be stopped. What a miserable experience being a Vela holder is. Pointless selling at these levels, best just to try to write the money off and stop checking in on the SP. Even our resident optimists have either left or dialled it right down now they've seen the truth about how this goes.

Just a grotty day out there all round today, no one's making any money except for the chancers trying to day trade and pick over the bones of CINE (which looks like an incredibly risky business to me)

To be fair it looks the same as it has for a while now. But it's not bad news so we should be grateful for that, good to know it's still in play

I'm in agreement with Jim on this one - at this stage I don't believe that the news on AZD1656 is going to be good in the end and I'm not all convinced that it's all already priced in, I think we'd see the SP poleaxed and it would be a loooong time before it recovered. The board's behaviour has got progressively more worrying over the last couple of years and their judgement on what to invest in and when seems askew, as does their judgement on when to sell - Kanabo is the last time I recall them actually making any money on anything. I don't particularly want to sell at the lowest point I've seen since being invested, but I'll be gutted if I leave it and an RNS drops to say it's a dud. decisions, decisions....

yeah fair enough, I do agree, if anyone's planning to top up this is probably a decent price to do it at. so low that it actually made me consider it myself, briefly (and if i'm being totally honest I may still do)
I've been trying to wean myself off looking at what's going on with Vela because for the reasons already covered many times I'm not so desperate for the money that I'm prepared to take the hefty loss and it's not good for you to check all the time. But stopping in for a quick disappointment check today made for especially grim viewing!

Lvu, you say this like it's a good thing - it's definitely not. All it means is that even more people invested are now underwater and just when you think it's reached the bottom it proves you wrong again and again.
God help me, but for the very reason THG just mentioned I actually found myself considering a top up on the off chance that this does ever come good. But it's just too much of a gamble for what is effectively now a one trick, make-or-break share (it totally wasn't when I first invested) or the slowest of all slow burners. 0.025 - bleurgh

I don't understand what makes you so confident that something's about to blow? I'm all for a bit of optimism but it's got to be backed up by some facts, surely? Or at the very least a rumour! Far as I can tell nothing's happening at all behind closed doors except the BoD have got their feet up and are enjoying a brew. The sp is still flatlining, still just a trickle of trades every day, still a huge echoing silence on the one thing that's going to change things around here....

Agreed the investments are performing horribly but I'm feeling generous this morning and I think anyone looking objectively at the market can see it's absolutely goosed for all sorts of different reasons. Being down on some of them isn't a massive surprise in the current environment. Being significantly down on pretty much all of them is more of a worry, looking forward to voting against the BoD in 6 months time - surely only sorting the SGS deal out and revealing a stunning RNS can save them now?
