The price movement is very odd since the big sell yesterday. You'd really expect it to nosedive but it's doing the opposite. Typical Vela really, logic does not apply here. Gawd knows where that 1B dump yesterday ended up, but it's vaguely heartening to see that it's not dropped us to .01

That would be a very generous assessment Roy. It's a total sh*tshow as usual. Trust me to top up / average down 2 days before one of the directors dumps a billion shares and does one.... I don't expect we'll get any clarity either

Yeah right. Just when you think you know the bad news that Vela might have in store for us, it passes another large unexpected news turd and the SP drops once more. Incredible really, who knew a BoD could be quite this bad? An education for us all.

it wouldn't be Vela if it didn't drop like a stone as soon as the investment is made - as someone pointed out a while back (maybe yourself?) this business could have made a fortune if they'd chosen to short almost all the stocks they've chosen to buy!

Oh god i hope so. Don't think i've ever averaged down on a share solely in order to get out more quickly before. Luckily my holding wasn't massive to start with and I have a bit spare so it's been relatively easy seeing as we're stuck at around .02 at the moment. Whoever called the bottom the other day is underestimating Vela's ability to surprise you, and not in a good way.... What happened to Lvu333? They were very shouty about how great an opportunity this was not that long ago. Must have sold at a loss and moved on, another one burned by this rubbish.

That's a very good point Joe. I hope Mode does the business for you and anyone else invested there at a low enough average (let's not forget that like here there will be plenty of people dreading a low ball offer) demo123, but it ain't going to do very much for us here. Only positive AZD news can do that ,or a decent IPO investment unlike TruSpine or Ensi that didn't do much for the SP

Me too. I've started averaging down here, last P&D we got to around .04 so if I can whittle my av down towards that I'll be out of here first chance I get. Would probably accept a small loss to do so as well. It feels a little risky as bad news re AZD1656 could drop us right down towards .01 and it could be good money after bad, but equally we could start to creep or even jump up on better news. Maybe the BoD will enlighten us at or after the AGM on the 'strategic update' plans they RNS'd early Sep. It's been a disappointing ride but anything I can do hasten my departure is worth it, I wouldn't trust this lot to sit the right way round on the lav

I had a quick look at that board earlier - no shortage of ramping by Bcarm in fact he seems to be mostly talking and ramping to himself over there.... come on mate haven't you got any work to do?!

Little bump up on CIZ around the same time in the afternoon too.... that's how rumours start!

This is the kind of excellent investment advice we all hope to see on these boards from time to time. I'm convinced, selling up elsewhere and putting it all on Vela for when the bomb drops (not literally, although that's probably more likely to happen next week than commercialisation or any actual good news from the BoD)

Sadly I think you're right, it's the lesson I've learned over the last few years - small caps are a lottery this is about my last remaining investment in one and that's only because i'm too stubborn to accept the loss whilst there's still a small chance it may eventually come good. I've effectively written it off. Nice boring FTSE for me nowadays. They're not faring very well either but at least they'll more than likely bounce back instead of slowly sinking in to the muck

Not sure I'd be ramping quite so hard on Mode considering it's about 90% down in the past year. In fact, unbelievably, it's actually performed even worse than Vela! God help anyone who takes advice from these boards particularly advice like this, but some people might and it could end up losing them a lot of money. You don't want to be that guy do you? Are you sure you're not a board member? They were pretty keen on mode too....!

I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing how the BoD will try to put a positive spin on things and attempt to polish the turd that is their investment strategy. As has been repeated so many times there's no point selling, my coping mechanism with this (and a very ill-advised toe dip in to ARB a while back) is to try to forget about it and only check out of curiosity every now and then. Much better for the soul. I guess in a weird kind of way I am holding for gold after all, but without any anticipation of ever actually seeing any gold in the end. If it really tanks on resullts I might even have a small top up, seeing as I can't sell in the foreseeable.

Vela has finally broken Bowlers.

RNS tomorrow / hold for gold / commercialisation imminent etc etc. I think not. This is a horrorbag of a share, I know I really shouldn't look at the SP but I just can't help it. Even the resident optimists seem to have deserted the place now.

Ha! You didn't really just say that did you? Could be an exciting time next week or could be same old Vela.... but yeah it's tested all of our patience has this one, let's hope we see it rewarded

No matter what the status of any deals or negotiations are it's definitely been the most interesting week we've had for a long time. Having got used to this bouncing around .025 and even lower and single digit trades in a day it's clear that something's moving this we just don't know what it is yet. We could easily see the week out at .04 which is a tidy bit of work if you bought in a week ago. Fingers crossed we find out next week, I'd love Vela to finally give me a decision to make as to whether to jump out or hand on and see what unfolds.

Glad you got out intact The Bishop, shame but not entirely unexpected to see this sink right back down to where it was. We've seen a couple of these days of excitement and rumour over the last year or so but from memory yesterday's was the biggest yet so just maybe there's something brewing in the background. Back in the bottom drawer it goes, I'm only slightly jealous of those that got out yesterday, honest!

Genuine question for those luck y enough to have bought in on the low a couple of weeks back - stick or bail out? I'm very much stuck here due to a high average and not being able to bring myself to average down (and funds not becoming available at the right time to do so) but I'm curious to know how some who have 'enjoyed' the vela experience for the last couple of months and who have an average of say 0.025 will react and whether they have enough faith in the BoD and the portfolio to hang around?
