RE: Great news what could possibly go wrong ?4 Mar 2025 12:04
My god what a sad state of affairs. I've been keeping a vague eye on Vela since selling out several months back, thinking I might dip a toe back in if there was any evidence that it might recover or a case to be made to do so. Sadly I think that would be a total waste of money.
It's not so long ago that they had a million+ shares at $5 each that they could have sold. I'm sure someone will contradict me to say that it was during the period when they weren't allowed to sell (the Board's legendary communication made that difficult to work out), but even if that's the case there was still ample opportunity later to cash in at say $2 or $3/share. Ensilica and one or 2 others could have been sold at decent profit, there was the accidental investment of 300k in Truspine, the disastrous losses on MODE and TRYB, the never-to-be-seen IPO in Aeristech etc etc. Literally the only good bit of business I recall the board doing was the fast turnaround on Kanabo. Everything else they've ballsed up and it's the shareholders who have paid, literally. Hindsight is great of course, but to have got it wrong at almost every single opportunity? Unforgiveable.
An absolute disgrace and I know from my time here there are plenty of good, genuine holders on this BB - it's a massive shame this has happened to them when it could have all been so different had the BoD conducted themselves differently
