That depends on volume though - which has definitely increased of late, but still not particularly impressive. My suspicion (and this based on nothing but a hunch) is that this might spike unexpectedly at some point. We've had plenty of p&d's over the last few years, so one of those starting at .025 or similar would be very welcome
Not sure that the AGM itself is anything to get excited about, it's really just a formality that businesses have to observe rather than a vehicle for announcements or revelations. The interesting bit will be finding out what the current holdings are because they've got to have been selling a substantial chunk of something to cover their wages for the last few months having spent everything in the coffers, and with pretty much all the investments down it'll have been a case of selling at a loss.
It all rests on the CDT price now, if that were to go on a run we'll be laughing. If it nosedives again it'll be back bumping around sub-.02. That's all there is to it now
I do think CDT hitting 4 (which it's just done) will help out sp and allow us to get out of this deeply frustrating share. As will hitting 5, 6, etc etc
No
It could of course just be one of the bigger PIs finally getting bored of it and wanting out, or someone with deep pockets who bought a load tuther day expecting it to rocket but then cutting their losses once that hasn't happened. Volvie says he has 200mil, I think Bishop, Jimmy and one or 2 others have a big holding too, could just be one of them bailing out. Anyway I guess we're locked in again for better or worse. All we can hope for now is a decent run on CDT to get things moving again I suppose
I give up. The market hates Vela, that's perfectly clear now. I would switch off and bottom drawer it again (now that I've foolishly bought more) but if it moves I want to be on my toes to bail out.
I expect it'll take CDT hitting higher figures than 3.5 to get this old dog moving
I despair of this share. I genuinely wonder whether I'll ever be able to get out of it without losing money
It's the dreaded Curse of Vela
Good start for CDT today - long way to go but it's a positive start. Come on vela, catch up ffs
That's a confident move. Bit of a crappy showing from CDT but if that gets going again and if the BoD sort their timing and plan out (and bother to enlighten the market) then we should still be ok. As ever with Vela something that should be dead straightforward never is
Another 3 x 911 buys shown today, just like the other day - I always assumed this was BS but maybe there is something in it? Who knows, but they just jumped out at me. There's also a 111 buy showing, no clue what that's supposed to denote or just someone spending 3p....
All that blue and we're still only showing 1.5% up, come on Vela pull your finger out
I sincerely hope it won't - I bought more this morning at .023. Despite my views on the board I just can't see how there isn't value here, buying under .025 seems like a no brainer. FWIW my feeling is that the board will turn this around pretty quickly, if they can get anything over $5 then I reckon that represents a fairly tidy piece of work and puts the whole thing to bed. God only knows what they'd spend it on though
Think he means CDT price just went off a cliff - well not that dramatic, but a sharp drop
Ah that's nice. Postman's got a mate
Even by Vela's standards today has been deeply underwhelming
....meanwhile poor old Vela has gone red. If this drops to .025 or lower I'm buying some more
That's what we all really want to see - if that runs up towards 7 / 8 through the week we'll all be happy
Loads of selling. Maybe it's just people who have been sat for a long time cutting their losses around .03 or traders doing their thing. Fingers crossed for an afternoon rise in to the 3's, a pre-market CDT rise would definitely help
The decision to RNS at 3pm on a Friday as opposed to 7am on a Monday is vintage Vela (although I'm not absolutely sure how much say they have on that - maybe it has to be announced right away)
No doubt there's been plenty of strategizing by holders old and new over the weekend - they've finally given us all a nice problem to have, whether to sell on the spike tomorrow morning and walk away, whether to try and trade the inevitable swings, or whether to hold on and see if CDT does continue it's strong showing through last week in which case we may be looking at a multi bagger. Nothing I've seen from this board over the time I've been invested makes me think they've learned anything at all from the experience, this is literally the only thing I've seen come off for them out of literally all the other investments in the portfolio, fortunately for all holders it's the biggy. So personally I won't be hanging around long term because I don't trust them to invest millions of £ wisely but I'd mentally written this one off so long ago that I do intend to try to enjoy the moment over the next few days whilst not getting greedy or losing sight of my misgivings about the BoD and their decision making. Also entertaining to see talk of special divi's / RTO / and I'll chuck in share by-back. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see consolidation on the menu at the AGM again this year too. Anyway good luck everyone with whatever you've decided I hope it works out well for you all
