Nice to see a few half decent buys today, though not reflected in the sp . Certainly more volume than usual, couple more of the mysterious 666 (10p) transactions too.

Yeah I think around .013 was all time low previously, been bouncing off that for a few weeks but seems to have punctured it now. Makes it difficult to decide whether it's worth averaging down again, knowing as we do that this is actually undervalued (unlike most shares where people say it's undervalued, this genuinely is) or whether the sentiment is just so rotten that it'll struggle to ever properly recover in which case it's just good money after bad. As far as we know it's just a wait now for CDT to hopefully rise and the BoD to take the decision to cash some of them in. I don't think they've got the luxury of waiting until it's $10+, we know there's nothing in the coffers after they did that £50k raise tuther day

CDT's a volatile beast isn't it? Spike up towards $4 just now then drops back to where it was. Would be nice to see a steady increase there, seems like our only hope at the moment as long as the BoD decide to sell some at the right time

Noticed this yesterday too - think there was a 666, a 6666 and even a 66666 yesterday! Very odd.

No doubt someone somewhere will tell us it's a clear 'buy' signal from the MMs and something incredible is about to drop.

I'm not entirely sure how throwing more and more money at a share that's dropped by some 90% over the last couple of years could be considered a no brainer although I concede that it's definitely undervalued, in a literal sense. It's just there's no news flow, the only thing of interest for the last couple of years has been the SGSC/CDT business which produced nothing more than a brief p&d, a failed attempt to get involved in that £15mil scheme and a steady dwindling away of value in the rest of the portfolio/selling at low prices to keep the BoD getting paid

I can afford to hold and have been doing for years - I just wonder if I'll ever actually see a return of any sort.

I look forward to be being told to sell up and move on or stop talking the share down shortly (although with single digit trades most days and the odd big dump from a bored holder every now and then it seems to be doing a decent enough job of that on it's own)

Yup since the BB police turned up and bored the life out of all conversation that isn't flag-waving or tub-thumping it's gone very dead in here, personally I can't be bothered to be told once again that we're dragging the sp down / being impatient / not taking responsibility for investing decisions. Congratulations guys, you have your wish - no offensive or negative posts, but also no posts at all that aren't cross-ramping or generic nonsense. With the share effectively mothballed pending anything happening with CDT there's nothing to discuss anyway I don't suppose

Plenty here have been waiting for 4 or 5 years, in some cases more, how much patience does it take? In that time we've only seen the sp dwindle away steadily whilst perversely the value of investments goes up. I wonder what could be the cause of that mismatch?

Well this is not what I was hoping to see. The only thing the market is going to back when it comes do Vela is seeing some £ banked from CDT. In fact I wish they'd just sell everything and start again.

We know there's no money available for new investments and it appears $7 isn't a high enough sp for them to want to part with any of the CDT shares so this is now effectively in limbo unless CDT goes nuts. Well done board, what fabulous shareholder value you're providing.

As for £15mil quid raises for a 'transformative' move in to the life sciences sector is that what JN suddenly is, an expert in that area? How can they even entertain that (and in the process rack up a £50k bill) when they're flogging anything they can to just keep them in tea and biscuits?

I disagree. CDT is the key to LTH's getting out of here with their £ intact. I never thought I'd say it but postman's right, it's a waiting game now. I can't wait to not be invested here any more but I wrote the money off long ago so if CDT goes on a run or if the BOD miraculously did something right for once and flogged a decent amount at $5+ then it'll finally give some a chance to sell up. The rest of the portfolio is just bits and bats of garbage that won't make any difference to sentiment or the sp. It's cash in the bank that people want to see, good old-fashioned return on investment

I know you're in ENSI Joe but you're getting obsessed! A bit like when MODE was all over the place. These aren't massive holdings for Vela, yes it all helps but one part of the portfolio getting back towards parity with the buy-in price isn't going to shift Vela's fortunes, we've seen that many times when there's been a run on something it has no effect here at all. Only an RNS declaring they've sold X amount of CDT and have a few million $ in the bank will change anything here, and that's got to happen some day - which is why I'm not going to sell at a loss now I'd rather wait for that day and then I'm out.

Still a small investment compared to the CDT value though. And they've been chipping away at the ENSI holding, selling at low prices to keep the lights on after blowing all the money on rubbish like TSP and Tribe (although at least TRYB looks like it's run by grown ups and will hopefully recover, unlike TSP which will almost certainly prove to be a waste of £300k). It looks like it all rests on the CDT performance now

Wonder when the next update will land? Sadly the last one being mid Dec means it might not be until next month. At that stage it'll have been 10 months since Vela last put their hand in their pocket and made an investment, I sincerely hope we see in the next update that they flogged some CDT at a decent rate. That would restore a little confidence, maybe ignite some interest otherwise this could be a looooong wait for a pay-off

Seems to be recovering - would be great to see it have a strong end to the week (which is more than can be said for Vela - back to .015, unbelievable!)

Dunno, I could have sworn a few posts were removed a couple of days ago but I don't recall there being anything controversial on there. We know they have done in the past though and seem to be quite thin-skinned to criticism. Let's face it they've probably not got a great deal else to do nowadays. Or maybe they're working on some masterplan that's yet to be revealed.... perhaps not.
