I really wish I'd never checked in here now, vela's in my head and I don't want it in there it's annoying me and putting me off work! Anyone reading and re-reading JN's quote at the end of the Truspine RNS could almost take that as a warning to sell up immediately, this is the kind of junk that JN thinks is a perfect Vela target. If it wasn't for the ridiculous SP vs cash and investments, and the tiny hope of any result from SGSC I think it would be worth taking the hit and doing one. We could really do with some info about SGSC soon, even just to know if it's still in play or not. It's killing this share, just organise a meeting with them and draw a line under the thing, move on if it's not going to happen. What are these people being paid for?

Gawd. I know hindsight makes things look awful sometimes but all of that reads badly, particularly JN's summing up at the end. It hasn't taken long for Trupsine to collapse in to a messy heap it really makes you wonder what due diligence was done on this one. They even had the chance to bail out but chose not to, the £300k could have been far better (accidentally) spent elsewhere

Can I ask if these rumours come from anything like a reliable source? We've been here many times, god knows we'd alll love to see this above .02 for a start, and stay there

Can't see any need for a placing Joe, for the reasons discussed a week or two back - mainly because there's still money in the bank. I should imagine the reason for the persistent selling and the dropping SP is a total lack of sentiment for this share and the unresolved couple of million quid hole in the shape of SGSC, nothing else can really account for the difference between the mcap and the current cash & investments

Decent Joe, always nice to make money. I'm having a small dabble on some mini caps to see if I can do the same, BOIL, ICON and EQT. None of them strike me as long term holds but work's been good recently so got a few extra quids to try and turn a quick 10% here and there. Sad to see the carnage at AMGO today, that was one of my first investments a few years back (along with Sirius Minerals who's name is forever cursed...) but looks like it's another goner

yeah I noticed a bit of Murphy chat over there yesterday, something about it being on a rolling monthly basis? So as you say, it could come at any time. Let's hope so, Vela seems to have gone in to hibernation for now. Will we ever be released from the deathly boredom of being invested here?

Joe I can guarantee you that everyone invested here has the same questions and wants some answers but surely you've seen over the last few months that no answers are ever forthcoming ? Everyone eventually gets bored of shouting and getting themselves wound up, eventually they either settle down to wait it out or they sell and try their luck elsewhere. I'm not saying it's not a sh*te state of affairs, it definitely is, but that's just how it is. Try to keep in mind that you've been careful to keep your average nice and low, jump out on the next p&d. Save yourself the stress.

Agreed Joe. Can't see there being a placing any time soon, there's no need for one. It's one of the main reasons I haven't just accepted the loss on this, it's not in a terrible financial position it's just run by disinterested clowns

Looks that way. I mean, if they're going to start double-dipping on anything then ENSI looks a much better bet than anything else in the portfolio.

course the other issue you might be having Joe is that you seem to be attracted to trying to turn around a profit on a small caps like Vela / Mode / ARB / DVRG etc where it's easy to get caught out by one dodgy RNS smashing the sp and it taking years to recover, if at all. Far be it for me to offer anyone advice but the one thing the Vela Experience has taught me is that there's nothing wrong with a good old boring FTSE if you can catch them at the right price. At least it's not usually an all or nothing punt on one big deal coming off.

Sorry to say it Joe but it's not like you weren't warned - I mean literally everyone who's been here any length of time has repeated this time and time again... the board are a shambles who make poor decisions or no decisions at all and the sp has gone in to a slow but steady decline ever since. 2 or 3 years ago it all had a very different look, pre-SGSC and when a new investment every 2 or 3 months would give the sp a boost, JN's rep was still high on the back of AAA and the economy didn't feel quite as f*cked as it does now. I'm not even sure you'd class this as a falling knife, the sp vs cash and investments must mean we're near the bottom. The only reasons I'm still here are that I'm too stubborn to sell at these low prices and I don't need this money at the moment. Plus I honestly don't think it can go a great deal lower than this. There's no debt, a bit of cash in the bank and they have a couple of winners that they could sell in extremis, so I'll sit tight for now unless it troubles .03 in the near future in which case I'm out

TSP started out as a shambolic investment and has actually managed to get worse from there which is truly impressive. You'd think that after the carry on with accidentally spending 300k on those shares and the embarrassment that accompanied it, followed by green-lighting the investment that the board would have had a long hard think about whether it was a decent prospect or not. Another stinker, if they had the balls to do so they'd admit the error, sell out now whilst there's still something to recover instead of letting it do a Mode and be reduced to a couple of quids worth of value, and chalk it up to a bad decision. But of course, they won't and it'll be another hole in the portfolio

That's what we said last time.... and the time before! But yeah, first time we've had a nose above .02 in a while, fingers crossed we can hold this (and everything else crossed that there's some substance behind the rise)

AndyCZ - I'm guessing yes. can't see any news out there to do with Aeristech/ Conduit / AZD1656, all quiet on CIZ, nothing out the ordinary. Just Vela having a little tickle by the looks of it, suppose it shows there's some life in the thing yet. I'd love to be proved wrong and see something of substance drop but knowing Vela.....
