It is, but that's not new information it's been this way for ages. When that's been pointed out by LTHs they've been told they're being derampers/miserablists/not taking responsibility for their investment decisions when in fact they have a right to expect more from those handling the money and making the decisions, whether that's in dd with potential targets to avoid bad investments (Truspine & second tranche in Mode) to cut losses and recognise when the writing's on the wall (Mode) or just better communication with the investors particularly over the big one, SGSC. Sad to see more holders finally being ground down and chucking in the towel at what I imagine is a considerable loss, I hope you have better fortune elsewhere

The simple answer is they're guessing, same as we all are really. It's just an illustration of how bored and frustrated investors here have become it's easier to predict a further drop based on what you've seen for the preceding year and a half than it is to have any confidence in a recovery

I think the shorters have got bigger fish to fry than this to be honest. You rarely see much organised shorting on tiny caps like this one, plus it's lost so much value already over the last 18 months or so that there's not that far to fall to make it worth their while. If I had to bet either way I'd say we'll see a slow increase in the sp from here, it's been hovering around .016 a couple of months but doesn't seem to properly test .015. Mind you I've made the mistake of thinking we're at bottom before and been proved wrong, but cash + investments being significantly over the mcap should hopefully stop it tanking further

Weird isn't it? If you read that update with no prior knowledge of the business or the Board you'd think this was a decent enough prospect. The cash balance is nice, for all Vela's faults it's good to know that there's plenty in the bank so it really is just a waiting game. It would be nice for them to draw a line under the SGSC debacle at some point though

I imagine they'll barely acknowledge Mode, Truspine or any of the other poor performers, it doesn't show them or their investment strategy in a very good light so no doubt they'll gloss over it and hope the shareholders don't notice. The Trupsine investment started off embarrassing and chaotic when they accidentally blew 300k on it, sounds like it might end up that way too

Yeah those are some chunky buys compared to the rubbish that we've seen over the last few months. Please please please let it be the start of a p&d so I can get out of here once and for all

Not particularly enjoying the silence from the BoD though, not that it's any surprise. Guess there's just not much going on here at the moment.

It's all very Vela to see a 62mil buy drop in amongst the usual daily scraps but no impact on the sp. Anyway, back in the bottom drawer it goes.

Don't take this the wrong way Joe_B but have you thought of stepping away from Vela for a day or two? Seems to me you're caught in the same loop that the rest of us who have been hanging around for a couple of years now, underwater on the share and not wanting to sell at a loss. Obsessing over the sp day after day is going to send you mental, there's nothing to work out here it's just a company that's badly run and a share that's down on it's luck at the moment, plenty of those around. Some unanswered questions persist (Laiker getting .04?) but there's nothing you can do other than sit and wait with your fingers crossed, or move on to save yourself the stress. It sucks, but I can strongly recommend stepping back a bit it's just not healthy otherwise. Your average is low enough that I'm sure you'll be able to get out mostly intact some point in the coming months

Don't know about that - the sp has been struggling for months now, even the increase in value of the ENSI and now the KNB holdings haven't been able to stop the slide. It seems to be doing just fine with it's long drawn out death fart without Mode's implosion.

True. It's actually quite impressive how badly they've run this show and as we've said so often a lot of it is down to the comms or lack of it. No attempt to build any positivity whatsoever, just silence and an occasional (usually late) quarterly update that's thin on content and does nothing make investors think this lot know what they're doing. Personally I'd like to see them sell some more of the holdings and re-focus their efforts, do some proper due diligence instead of chucking it at things like Truspine. The SGSC situation appears dead now, what a spectacular mistake that was. It's only stubbornness that's stopping me selling out too. If it was still .02 or over I probably would

Well we don't for sure - I'm just going on the last time the SP hit .03+ was on the 9th Nov when the RNS re: Conduit merger was released. Hopefully we might see some positive action here when it actually takes place. Have a look over the RNS again, and if you've got the time take a look at the Conduit website https://www.conduitpharma.com/corporate-profile/asset-pipeline/ the AZD1656 Covid dropdown in particular. Vela's involvement is mentioned and explained in there and in the previous RNS's that Vela have put out about the trial, worth getting your head around some of this stuff and how Conduit/SGSC/Vela/Murphy are linked because as far as I can see that's all this share's got going for it in the short term. Also worth looking at UncleJim's suggestion about CIZ's involvement in other applications for AZD1656

Anyone wanting to try to get info on the (hopefully) upcoming Conduit/Murphy merger and subsequent NASDAQ listing would probably be better off keeping an eye on the Murphy Canyon Acquisition Corp press release page. It actually works and is fully updated as opposed to Conduit's which is woeful. Fingers crossed something happens there in the next couple of months and we see some kind of action here. For what it's worth the Murphy Canyon stock price has had a very gradual increase over the last year , the kind of chart Vela and it's long suffering investors can only dream of

not sure the MMs have much to do with walking this sp down Joe, the lack of good news on any front plus the BoD's woeful comms just wears investor's patience down to the point when they cut their losses and go elsewhere. Funnily enough I think one of the next pieces of real news will be SGSC related in the Conduit merger, they reckon that's happening Q1. That may actually give us a bump upwards. Keep your eye on the Conduit website (although it's a bit thin on info) they're bound to post it before Vela grind in to action and issue an RNS, might even be able to get the jump on a rise

Mode's such a tiny part of Vela's portfolio value now I don't think it would have a vast amount of impact even if it went belly up. The damage was already done by the drop to 2p doesn't really make much odds if it drops further from there to be honest

Remember the good old days when a new investment being announced would result in a bit of volume and a bump to the SP? I miss that. This one's not exactly got the pulse racing although it is at least a sign of life

If our time here in Vela has taught us anything at all it's that what Boards say and what Boards actually do are often two very different things

my average is a touch under .04 now. Whittled down from more than double that from original buy in at around .06 then got spiked on the SGSC trial news which was a terrible decision I don't like to think about too much. Mind you that was a while ago so that money's not really relevant now. When it's down at these levels it is tempting to bring it down further but I can't really justify putting anything more in, we've all seen how down in the dumps this share is
