Acquisitions & Placings7 Feb 2018 10:53
I think it's really telling when you look at the wording of the RNS re: change of approach towards blockchain technology acquisitions, along with the recent interview the CEO made.
The point that they're now looking at much bigger acquisition targets ie more expensive, than initially envisioned. That along with references to Funding.
I think it's highly probable, given that certain potential targets have already been identified, that we'll get a significant Placing undertaken in the very near term.
Although blockchain technology is touted as being a future growth area, at the present moment there is no significant traction in that area and any such companies are unlikely to have any material revenue stream.
Looking forward, that would suggest continued, highly dilutive Funding rounds, to acquire assets that would not be contributing to the cash balance of the company.
Perhaps in 5-10 years things may be clearer but for the shorter term this company will by necessity be subject to constant injection of capital by shareholders with no material cash return for the balance sheet.
