Board members come and go all the time and my own thinking would be that a long-serving member replaced by two other very experienced, independent directors should not cause a “tank” from £7.90 to £7.60, over 4%, in the share price. But, hey, who am I?

Just a cross shareholder who’s probably too impatient for his own good!

If you were saying shorting should be banned, I agree with you. The simple act of a company actually taking a short position has a depressing effect on its own and, in the end, can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Couple that with the tendency to over-emphasise negatives and under-play positives, e.g. tge “early signs of credit deterioration” by Goldmans yesterday and you can too easily end up with a gloomy picture and clouds on the horizon rather than a view of the sunny uplands.

In the end, though, it will come down not necessarily to personal opinion but personal position with a particular share. Difficult to put the emotions aside, too, when folk like you and I love the product that CCL sell, especially in the UK.

Oh well, back to whale watching…….. if only. Lol ??

You could try Companies House as P & O is a UK company so they would have to file here, I think.

Two of the shorts reduced their positions marginally this past week. Those who lent them the shares are going to want them back if the price were to hold over £8.50, which it almost certainly will over the next month, I think.

RSI is too sophisticated for me, I am only a small investor, anyway, but I shall watch the shorts. They reduced their exposure here recently, although not by much……

Well, that is true, up to a point Terry.

Their business parameters state that they will keep debt below 75% of assets and they are at 50%. 12 months ago, with prospects worse, the share price was double what it is now.

The old advice “buy at the bottom sell at the top” is probably constructed on hindsight. Who knows when it is which? How many bought it at £4.95?
