Papalazz not only are your posts always pessimistic, they are sometimes badly wrong, viz the rebuttal by Thriftygirl the other day.
We know full well about debt problems with SAGA, for example. Carnival are in a different place. They have a plan and strategy to manage and pay down debt so this is already priced into the shares. The total shares in issue is around 214,000,000 but actual tradeable shares are around 146,000,000 which is the number to be used for determining whether a holding has to be declared to the SEC.
With new ships, increased prices and higher revenue from other sources, they have no need to issue any more shares. Carnival also hold two large tranches in treasury and elsewhere so would use these to raise money. But, again, they don’t need to.
I do hope that, like K, you are now in profit on your holding.
