Yes, agreed but I think a lot of that has already been priced into the SP. I am just wondering what will happen at 14:30 when NYSE opens. Could be ripe for a plunge or a boost! Just gonna stick with it.

Nice surprise to wake up to this morning.

BL, almost nothing that happens in M/E and Europe affects the SP because by far and away tge majority of Carnival’s activities happen elsewhere - mainly the US.

Yesterday was the last day of CCL’s trading year. Final results due out before Christmas. All expectations are positive. Hopefully, they will be exceeded!

Thanks Fordy. Got an email from Carnival - it’s largely down to bookings on the new ship, Queen Anne, it seems. Maybe it accounts for the lack of dip at 14:30?

Many have talked about the debt that Carnival is carrying but it all depends on the context because Carnival has a plan and a strategy for dealing with it. It would appear that Saga do not nor do they have the resources and institutional support that Carnival enjoy. At the last count, Carnival’s debt amounted to less than 50% of net assets. They have a target of almost complete repayment by 2028, I think.

Anyway, good start today!

Is this peculiar to RCL? I haven’t heard of any others doing anything like this. I suspect it may also be something to do with the way cruises are booked in the US?

P & O here do offer “guarantee” cabins but they promise that you will get at least the grade you’ve booked. Never heard of anyone being bumped.

Thanks, Thrifty, I just reread my post. I didn’t mean to give the impression I believed everything.

Maybe I was being too subtle but I am always keen to hear the truth. The thread here, up to now, has been polite and supportive of those who contribute. I have noted from Papalazz’s previous posts that occasionally they can be a little, how shall I say it “ a bit abrasive”.

We’ve ended the day all square, as good as. When I had a proper job, rumour was the second biggest production item - after paper and the odd bit of business………
