I am reading dozens of posts about MM manipulation and how evil they are - that needs addressing doesn't it?

It's the first bit that doesn't stack up though. Unless you're suggesting MM's are posting on this BB and spreading lies, which I simply don't believe.
The truth is that somebody with shares wants to sell, there's not enough buying interest so the MM moves the price lower to attract buyers. The resulting drop may then lead to weak holders but that's all started with a large seller, not any unprompted MM activity.

You are reading the computer generated guesses at buys and sells and thinking they mean something. They don't. They are just estimates of sale value vs midprice.

The simple economics are that people who own shares are willing to let them go at these prices. End of.
MM's don't force people to sell - they set an indicative price and see how people respond, just like bookies at the races.
If nobody was selling and there was a queue of buyers the MM's would up the price.

well for anybody out there who is normal, please note that it's almost year end.
It is possible there will be lots of silent investors looking to book in profits against capital gains tax allowance as this share has gone up massively in 12 months.
I expect the frantic ramping is to get out at the best price before year end, whilst the derampers are out and looking to get back on the horse as soon as possible for the next tax year.

As a LTH I have accepted there will be movement up and down over the next 3 months - if you want to trade the dips etc. good luck, but it's a risk in my opinion.
Yes, recent news has shown there's a huge market for COVID rapid testing, and yes other competitors are ahead albeit with perhaps less reliable or speedy versions.
We have other irons in the fire, thinking of the Alzheimer's and sepsis benefits to our tests, which may well lead to further shareholder benefit, that's why I'm here. I also enjoyed the big Divvi end of last year so I know this share can deliver profit.

Spreadbetting and shorting - 2 different worlds and spreadbetting does have its place.
The majority of spreadbetters (like me) use it for quick long positions. It allows leverage on small price movements.
I use the ownership of shares (like this) in the AIM for LTH

I'm disappointed.
Reading this BB is worse than watching my portfolio drop today.
I have a bullish view on this company, but I know it may take time to come to fruition and won't be a ROCKET GUYS TO £5 TOMOZ. Equally the drop today is not IT'S ALL OVER, DREADFUL COMPANY, BACK TO 10p or the much used MM'S PLAYING GAMES

I prefer to listen to both sides if it's coherent and on that basis Wolves makes as much sense as anybody else, even if I disagree with his views on occasion.

This has been answered many times before: for every seller there is a buyer and vice versa. What is logged as a sell or a buy is based on the computer judging mid-price on each transaction. It means nothing.
The logical reason for the drop is basic Adam Smith economics - price is a function of supply and demand. Whether we agree with peoples decisions is a different matter but plenty of people who had shares this morning have been happy to pass them on at a price you can see on the screen.

There WILL BE slings and arrows over the next 3 months, I fully expect to be nervous at times and well up in others. I have thought about trying to trade the movements, but I'm not confident I can get the timing right, so will wait.

This article is a double edged sword.
It shows on the one hand the size of the prize if we get a market leading test out there
It shows on the other hand that a rival has already got a market leading test out there

I still think the diversity of uses for our test (Sepsis etc) is going to make this a winner, but expect some ups and downs over the next 3 months of RNS from both us and our competitors

I'm concerned as a newbie (or neebie) why you would ask such questions on here. Indeed why a newbie (or neebie) to investing would start with a highly volatile AIM share like this.
I suspect you're not as newbie (or neebie) as you suggest, but I'm taking you at face value: I suggest you DYOR and stick to your own view - perhaps start with FTSE 100 shares on a small scale.

There's no shame in banking a profit of 40% even if you had a "what if" ending.
I'm an LTH here because I see a longer benefit but I don't get upset about traders getting a quick " in and out" over the last week either. It's all part of the game.
Wolves might be right and it may dip to 80p in the next couple of days, but then again in 6 months this could well be £5.
It's a free market - you pays your money you takes your choice.
The disturbing bit is the childish points scoring and cheap insults between each side. This BB has it's drawbacks....

This is an unstable share because it's AIM, because there's big news coming out but then director moves.
There's a low free float - it's going to ebb and flow.
Relax.
