I saw the ADVFN RNS and did the maths - we have about £2.2M worth of ADVFN shares held by OBS (just under a 5th) so the rise (to press) there would equate to a 5% uplift here which has transpired.
I would rather there wasn't a takeover of ADVFN and OBC holds its share as I see that being a value add investment over time.

I appreciate Casper's positivity, but that post is too evangelical and suggests new LTH's are actually lambs to the slaughter and fools. Not a good look.
As for the RNS, I've seen some really poor attempts at other companies this year - agree the tone and content of any late April update will be vital.

It's interesting how people use their ISA allowances. I stock AIM stuff like BRH in my share dealing account and use my ISA allowance to fill a stocks and shares ISA risk 5 managed by AN Other. That way I hedge my bets.
There's more than one way to skin a cat - as I say it's interesting to see different approaches.

agreed, I also prefer a company to offer timely updates - it's just that some people hang on every word of an RNS as either triumph or disaster - we've all seen that play out :-)

A good point re: RNS.
The company have made a rod for their own back if they've promised RNS by end of April - they may feel obliged to release a progress update that's not the complete article.
It's not a disaster if the big news is in May, but for traders and the more nervous it could cause a wobble.

Now we are getting ever closer Casper. I have always supported good links and info here as (and I keep saying this) I'm a genuine LTH who has benefitted already from this share. I believe in the long term value we can derive and I don't want the BB to attract day traders and myths and lies which destabilise the share.
I believe that earlier threads where we discussed divestment and big dividends is positive in its way, just not CAPSLOCK style :-)

Sorry, can't agree. Although that's not because I don't support your positivity or your integrity Casper.
The reality is that people invest to make money and they won't judge that investment on a few CAPSLOCK evangelists, they are as likely to invest if they see rational cases and support on a BB explaining what the value proposition is.
That's NOT a deramp it's a reasoned argument. We can all agree if there was a surefire way to get a big profit we'd probably be at it together!!

For once we've had a positive sensible thread to discuss matters and all you can offer is whether there'll be a "takeover"?

That's the utopian outcome - and we all want that!
It would create a spike and dip though, requiring good timing to match the traders, or an acceptance as a LTH you're going to go right up then down again!
This scenario would lead to a big special dividend which would then cause the share price to come into line with that payout and we'd have a repeat of the RMS dividend scenario with the long term share price.
