I don’t think we should be overly concerned by a low ball takeover to be honest. We are funded for the litigation so nothing compels us to accept one. As the majority of PIs are long term holders (this doesn’t strike me as a trader’s stock) and taking into account the historic value that was once here, it’s unlikely anything in the vicinity of the current SP will be accepted so whilst there is a remote posibility of a takeover, it won’t be bargain basement price.

On a side note, I’m surprised at the muted response to the developments in this case. Having said that, no one is likely to be paying much attention to the inner workings of a patent case in a small cap firm. Perhaps lobo got there first and the market might catch up eventually. This afternoon will be intriguing with the US markets opening. Might we get some action later?

Andy, updates rarely provide the desired effect. Outside of an AGM or a scheduled investor meet, RNS is the best and most impactful mechanism for delivering news.
Kevin, to provide a contrarian slant on your comments, I would contend that any private investor who picks their own stocks should be able to tolerate a share slide, even share collapses (as I’m currently involved in with OO, currently 23p down from 47p). It’s just a case of knowing what you’re signing up for. We know the significant upside potential here and that’s not without its risk or heartache. I’d contend that buying an individual stock and expecting it to hold or climb ever upwards, whilst still expecting it to multi bag, is perhaps more arrogant…I personally don’t see an issue with a bleeding share price so long as nothing fundamental has changed. I’m guessing most here aren’t here to sell at 110p or 180p so who cares if it drifts in that range?
We are waiting for transformational news so let’s just sit tight and see what’s round the corner.

Bronx, as has been discussed before, if the plan is to spin off DIM shortly, it makes no sense to sign contracts under OO only for the client to then have to do the same again once spun out.

I think demand is absolutely there but it makes way more sense for DIM to stand alone before signing up clients. Just my opinion.

Agree with you Herne that debate adds much needed balance and notes of caution.

However, what I think a lot of people are finding increasingly frustrating is the fact that earache, Bronx etc, have made the same points many times before. It’s becoming a bit like Groundhog Day and whilst a one sided conversation isn’t healthy for the BB, neither is repetition of the same handful of points, mostly based around an X factor style slating of CF. The presentation gave an opportunity for us to move on, yet here we are again, back at square 1.

Sure, if something doesn’t ring right, air it, discuss it. I did so yesterday about a concern I had regarding DIM. We had a discussion about it and I feel I had the answers I needed. But I begin to wonder about the folks on here that come on to wring their hands with the same tired criticisms over and over again. It has undoubtedly, in my opinion, played a part in parting a few PIs from their shares.

It’s little wonder posters are beginning to call out these serial moaners because whilst debate is absolutely important, old gripes, previously aired, are not.

Aqua I do agree to an extent but the non core are an important part of the package. I for one see DIM as a ‘must have’ spin out and a big part of my decision to invest so heavily here was based on this exciting product. Yes core OO is the ‘bread and butter’ but many LTHs see the end game as holding a profitable core OO on top of holding the spin offs.

An upbeat presentation from CF and I agree with his ‘perfect storm’ assessment. The results and 7 million shares entering the market in a disorderly fashion is bound to spook people. And hence here we are.

I was unfortunately one of the questions he didn’t answer last night but wanted people’s thoughts on here. I’m personally of the mind that maximum shareholder value will be achieved if DIM were launched with minimal/no additional funding and that if funds are needed, the cash balance is dipped into. That way it is a true divi in specie and it will in effect support the OO share price because you won’t have people dipping out of OO to fund a bigger position in Dim as we clearly saw with Poolbeg.

I just hope CF learned some lessons from the POLB float and it concerned me a little when he said they were hoping to ‘do the same’ with DIM for the reasons stated above.

DCFN has a point Bronx. Your frequent posting on here, almost exclusively negative, suggests you have doubts about your position here. Would it be right to assume that should CF not directly address these concerns, that would prove one misstep too many from him in your book, and thus you walk away from a company that’s clearly irking you?

And if the answer to the above question is ‘no’, can I please ask that you dial back the same gripes and moans on here.

I’m reluctant to green bin you because, as I’ve said before, to your credit, you have raised some valid points in the past. But the record feels very much broken at the moment and your frequent repetitions of the same points shows how you haven’t taken heed of your fellow poster’s requests to stop ramming your opinion down their throats.
Red days, I log in here and I could bet my house that you’ve posted to stick the boot in. If you are invested here, as you say you are, you have a strange way indeed of investing. Sticking your hard earned into a company to LITERALLY, on a daily basis, talk down and moan about.

The mind really does boggle but I’m hoping that at least some of what I say lands.

As someone once said ‘diversification is a hedge for ignorance’. Investment strategies: to each their own. We’re here to talk Synairgen not issue forth on how to spend each other’s money. Each person has their own strategy here but think we are all agreed we ain’t here for a steady 5% return! If this goes, it will REALLY go. I’m not really into setting price targets because you have to see what the narrative of the company is and take your lead from there. But personally I are talk of £10 a share as way too conservative. Especially as SNG has means of production. Let’s wait and see…

Agree with a lot of what you say there Doc. However I do think there is something in what Jez2 has said.

There is a symbiosis between govts and pharmas in the sense that pharmas will often bring to market what is in demand, rather than what is objectively in most medical need. In the current context we have seen through the media the almost monomaniacal pursuit of the vaccine as the absolute de facto weapon in bringing the pandemic to an end. So utterly committed are governments to the vaccine that today in the news we learn of bribing the youth with free takeaways in exchange for a vaccine…In this current context, you can see why big pharmas don’t really need to look for alternative solutions because demand is so high for vaccines, and clearly the hearts and minds of ‘higher ups’ are very much fixed on this course of action. So whilst the concept of a ‘conspiracy’ is perhaps too strong, there is definitely something of a stasis at present whereby both govts and pharmas are happy to stick with the status quo because it suits both of their agendas. Govt is seen to be doing something to protect public health whilst pharmas continue to flog their vaccines…just my take on it of course.

But with each day that passes, the limitations of vaccines are being highlighted, and alternatives are being sought, especially as mortality rates will always be the ultimate yardstick by which govts will be measured in terms of how successfully they are handling things. Combined with what will hopefully be some stellar trial results for Synairgen we could be part of something truly epic. I for one am really excited about the future of Synairgen.

Bit harsh bronx, eskers is a great sleuth and has provided many a rumour that have turned out to be true.

To address for a moment the negative mood generally. Many who are long, and bullish, have simply disengaged from the conversations here. Sure the SP is in the dumps but this company is in great shape. Many, like myself, have given up trying to convince others of this fact. That just leaves a handful of very negative and in some cases panicking posters to create an echo chamber of pessimism. Not great, but for some, being in the red is just too much to handle and so irrational feelings are vented, recycled and fed on this board.

Patience is all that’s needed but for sure CF has his work cut out to shift sentiment here.

Earache, these posts in which you tirelessly trawl through the posting history of other users in order to insult and dismantle them is disturbing.

I’m not going to play you at your own game, but you’ve been just as guilty of having different opinions at different times as anybody else.

I should imagine that when the fee is undisclosed that this is at the request of the customer, rather than OO being deliberately oblique. Not the case for this particular contract I should think, but the ‘significant’ Ampligen contract could be quite a big one for example.

Thinking logically, putting a figure on a trial could upset the SP of the customer (as it’s a significant cost) and hence an agreement is made not to disclose the exact figure at the time.

Just a thought but I wouldn’t automatically see a lack of a figure as a bad thing…

Synairgen is a brilliant name! Defo the best named company in my portfolio.

It’s the play on ‘synergy’ and ‘air’ that I like: two fundamental principles that underpin this brilliant therapeutic.

There are a handful of approved therapeutics which, let’s say, have questionable efficacy. Remdesivir For example had really weak trial results but such is the desperation for therapeutics, was given emergency approval by the FDA and is in massive demand.

In the US market alone there are about 70 other runners, at various trial stages. I’m by no means an expert on all of these but based on the trial data we have for SNG it appears far superior in terms of efficacy and is further along the track than most in terms of trial progression.

Without a doubt the missing link in the fight against this pandemic is a truly effective therapeutic. At first, it was perceived that vaccines are a silver bullet. I would contend that not only has this been quite quickly disproved, but that public appetite for constant boosters to tackle variants will dwindle as this pandemic wears on, combined with political and popular desire to open society (look at the backlash to the AUS lockdown today) you clearly have a big space into which an effective therapeutic can move.

I’m really bullish on SNG. Back in jan I thought our window of opportunity was narrowing. Now I feel quite the opposite. If trial data is anywhere near to half decent then this will blow. Remdesivir has set a pretty low bar as a therapeutic and if SNG can prove even moderate efficacy demand will be massive.

Just my take of course but been quietly topping up where possible here. Risky yes but certainly worth the punt IMO
