Last week I went all in on sugar and oil, but now I’m not so sure and am seeking the counsel of the trusty moon investment team. I’ve checked all my local phone boxes and also the spoons down the road, but no joy. Has he maybe been ‘sabotage’? Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Digit, I can’t speak for what element might have said elsewhere but he’s no con artist.

I always found his GGP posts at the more ebullient end, but he understands this company better than the vast majority of us. There’s Bamps and Paddy, maybe a couple of others, with his level of knowledge. Where he excelled, I felt, was the resource aspects and operational insights. He was absolutely bang on about the WDU, he went on the record about that early doors.

The vast majority of us, GGP holders at least, owe him our thanks and appreciation.

123, i did a *** packet calculation and based on current depreciation of the miners vs gold, the mining sector will be worth 0 at $2150 gold 😂 it’s for the market to decide that the selling is getting silly; we can’t be far away i feel.

investing in the miners is not for babies. the bull will buck.

I believe the puts are in Aussie, so we’ll out of the money yet.

Nothingspecial - I cannot see GGP maintaining that sort of range with macro so volatile and so many other drivers such as the MRE due imminently, potential revised guidance, dividends etc.

I think we are finally starting to see the fissures in the wider market that will herald gold’s next run. Might be painful in the short term but the miners will win eventually…and big.

Best just to keep an open mind and see what happens. It would take a nuclear winter for gold for GGP to stop generating boat loads of cash.

I just don’t see him going back to northern star, inheriting that bloated mess.

Here he is building a company in his image, resource growing by the second, a powerful moat in the Patterson, operationally elite, a shareholder base that loves him.

The way we are going, we will eclipse northern star within 5 years.

If there was the faintest whiff of commercial viability then Nanoco would’ve opted for yet another round of fundraise.

They know either:

They won’t have the backing of shareholders for a raise

There is no viable organic business model to warrant a raise

It’s likely both. The delisting is simply to go off to a quiet corner, away from prying eyes, to die, rather than the embarrassment of being wound up via a series of very public RNS.

Once Havieron is on stream our AISC will be amongst the lowest of all the miners globally. Given that we are domiciled in a developed nation with relatively high labour costs etc, this is all the more impressive.

Why I think AISC matters so much is because with the sort of AISC we will be chucking out, even in the deepest darkest bear market the lights will stay on whilst all around us fold. If your time horizon is say 10years plus, Greatland will be able to ride a number of POG cycles if it needed to.

As far as sensitivity to gold price goes? We will be more resilient than majors. That is what you call operational excellence.

Take into account the loan, the existing pile and next quarters cash (hopefully) the company will be sitting on the better part of $2 billion in dry powder.

It’s a good question. In an increasingly globalised world I don’t think the US alone has the power to determine the gold price. Especially given China’s moves in this space. But what a revaluation does do to gold, regardless of price, is clearly signal the centrality of gold within the modern financial framework, and I think it also gives a new dollar peg to gold, implying some sort of linkage between the dollar and gold, which is going to be rocket fuel in a financial nexus in which many participants still consider gold an old relic.

The valuation makes sense in that the market is weighing up the risk that the whole show gets confiscated by going private. At which point the business is worth 0.
