Hi Tom,Jak I would have noticed that, it must have been Wimpy .the sp certainly never got to £7 while I have had Taylor Woodrow shares. The shares I held at that time only got to 5.32 and then fell to 4p.

Hi Solley It was 2008 . I was in my office on a big flats development in Worcester and I was talking to the plastering sub contractor about Tw hitting 4p and how much I lost. He went back and told his brother who immediately bought £20k worth and sold a few weeks later at 20p, I always joked with them that he got my 100k :((

Hi Nige I'm expecting Bdev to get to low 600s, no chance of following last years chart, I jumped back in a few weeks back with 2ks worth, I shall be out before end Sept don't want to get trapped in with the drop, not bothered about reaching the max. It's then going into Sound, reason being away from Brexit in Morocco and in dollars. If the next well finds loads of gas it will be the biggest thing on Aim since Cove energy in 2012 if not bigger. Hi Jak Have I missed something I don't ever remember Tw getting to that level. From memory Taylor Woodrow got to £5.32 not sure about Wimpy never followed them. I sold some Taylor's at 5.30 (wished I sold the lot) but I kept buying on the way down believing they couldn't get any lower, at 4p I thought I'd lost everything. (120,000 down to £1,200) A girl I knew in Bryant pension office phoned me up and told me to take my pension after deferring it incase they went bust. I can't remember the point where Redfern met the ceo of Taylor's to discuss the merger. Both had large businesses in N.America both were collapsing in the crash (big profits down to zilch) If they had got to £7 I definitely would have sold the lot. I kept smiling through all that and eventually got it back . My oil shares kept me going until they went but then the builders kept me going and it looks like it's going to go vice versa again, which is why I won't put all my eggs in one basket. Three words spring to my mind diversify, diversify diversify All the best and keep smiling :))

Well done. Don't dissmiss Hurricane going to be huge soon just had a joint venture announcement was the cause of the rise wait for it to drop I am. Always happens to me sell and the sp goes up. Still waiting for UKOG to make my Fortune. Good luck all.

Hi Dc Whatever happens with Sxx when you made a profit , sell. They need a lot of cash to dig a huge pit then tunnel to Middlesborough. Another one in that mould is Hurricane energy off the west coast of Shetland wait for a drop buy and sell when in profit but they are slightly more down the line to production huge asset , Nicola Sturgeon will be pleased. I've held Tw shares a long time so probably won't be selling but the temptation to move to Sound energy is a huge draw for me , probably only another 9 months to the liquidity event. One negative is the current drill plan with 3 drills if the first is a duster might lose 50% but can't see it happening, if it's monster then the bidding war commences. Hi wolfwatch It used to be 85 shares. You have to hold shares on July 31. I believe they only issued through nominee account holders not shareholders direct, but might be wrong on that. I looked on line for the hotel deals they haven't got that many, some looked good

Terrace the incentives you are on about are the cause of HTB negative equity. The builders are inflating prices then offering enormous cash backs to first time buyers . The builders are not building as many houses as before 2016 but profits are soaring.The directors are creaming off the surpluses Personally I can't see this continuing its not ethical :((

Hi Dc The old saying the faster they rise the harder they fall. That's what i'm expecting from the Bdev sp. Investors who don't get out before x divi date will be in for a shock in this environment. Whether it will drop on that date is anyone's guess I'm expecting the market makers to be aware of the expected sell off. Can't see many investors getting the top price the spread will widen. I'm expecting a 30% drop again. They were particularly stated in the Times yesterday. This is only my opinion.

I just got my GNK shareholder vouchers, am surprised the benefits have increased to 25% off food and/or drinks, 5 uses per month plus a 50% off hotel breaks between now and March plus free breakfast. Pity Mars isn't as good

Hi leas That was a bit of shock you saying new CEO, I'm glad it wasn't it was the appointment of a new chairman which was as expected. Can't see him changing the policies that much. Hi gaspunter most of Mars profits are coming from beer sales, the upgraded pubs/restaurants are struggling at present to turn a profit, the prices of drinks in my local are some of the highest around here. It used to be very busy but that's all gone. If they do get rid of the rubbish pubs as you suggest then I think we are in trouble

Hi troubles, Tom Just finished the double page spread on Help to Buy, not good, think Hammond will have to change it. Only people it benefiting is the directors, there is small piece on Redfearn having made £27m since 2013, not as much as the PSN boss £47m this year. Certainly not helping shareholders at the mo. The article says the average HTB gives £55000 profit. The initial asking price is inflated and buyers are immediately in negative equity. They can't resale cos the HTB doesn't cover second hand properties. It my mind it doesn't bode well for the scheme. They saying 47% of builders sales are HTB And it raining :((

Hi owls, Nige I joined Bryant in 1975 they had a local authority division which built large estates for them. The funding for these were mainly on 40 year terms. Most of these loans must have been finalised by now. When the conservatives got into power the LA division was closed down at one time it was twice the size of the Homes division. The recession of 1981 nearly wiped out that division as well but the construction division kept it alive with ongoing contracts still bringing in revenue. Housing associations now have the job of raising the funding for housing and need the government to assist in the finance and availability of affordable land. They are the only ones that can reduce the demand for rental homes. The young can't afford new homes even with HTB and they want to live near town centres not miles away so they have to buy cars The industry doesn't need Nationalizing (I never agreed with that) tax incentives should be given to the private builders to build affordable homes and raise the taxes for 4,5 bed houses. That's my personal thought for the day.ATB

Looks like Deutsche bank are selling stocks and repatriating their money to Germany not sure if it affects Tw before Brexit day. They are in a bit of tight spot financially anyway. I wonder if others are following suit

The difference between Bdev and Tw is that Bdev are coming up to their special divi payment we are only due our interim, they are bound to rise more. Last year Bdev dropped from the high £6.90s and went down to the mid 4.50s that's around 30%, where have Tw lost 30%. In my mind this is still the better share and better quality product, not the best but still better. Investors who hold Bdev after the x divi date will be in for a tough ride In my opinion. ATB

On another red day Tw climbing a bit. St Leger day next week let's hope it's the start of the reversal. Big loser today is SXX been waiting a long time for that topped up a bit this morning. It's big now at £1.2bn nothing to what it will be, huge potash mine under the north York moors.ATB
