I noticed that Ralph Findlay is on the board of Bovis. slightly concerns me since we lost our Chairman to Persimmon recently. I for one would definitely not want him to go I rate him very highly, but to run a company where the sp is getting lower by the day it must be very tempting for him.

I can't say I was enthused by the update and slightly surprised that the interim is only 2.44p this will hit sentiment hard.
I know your keen on the builders but right at this moment attractions are elsewhere. Put my divi into Gan then sold at small profit then went into GVC been great so far.
Where did some on here get that £30m was for shoddy workmanship it was to replace the Grenfell type cladding and hopefully should be able to claim that back. Pete Redfern stated that the satisfaction survey has gone up to 90%, it would be nice if they could publish this survey.

I've no problem with the brewery operations and the brewery tour at Wolverhampton is a good experience.Just think the food side is poor.

Hi leas, T2B I can't believe any broker won't recommend these as a buy, but I can't trust Barclays after the terrible trouble I've had transferring out of Smart Investor (I could think of a more apt name). Share price is still way too low, sentiment for this share seems to have vanished Wish they would sell off the food side don't think it's working but that's only my opinion

Next weeks update may get the brokers to comment like last year when Canaccord said Hold, they also issued 3 other recommendations to Hold up to 26th June. Another Hold will give us an indication which way this is going to go

Hi cj66 My view on the macro side is the historic side of the business must have had a very busy time, indeed a friend knows a brewery wagon driver who says he has trouble getting into the Wolverhampton brewery at the moment. The prices of beer is rising in most of pubs I use. The football would have had an impact on some of the pubs but the restaurant ones suffered as most in Marstons have no screens. The problem I have with my local is a company policy of upgrading and up pricing which Ralph high lighted at last years agm in moving away from the discount food side. Well for me I think this policy is flawed it's destroyed a very busy pub into an empty one.so I believe the drinks side numbers will be fantastic but eating side will have struggled. Hi Londoner Your last statement of kids returning to the class rooms with tans, I can't see that happening I can't get my grandkids away from screens and there's me looking at one .ATB:))

Hi leas I'm on my phone and just looked at the web site. I had some info from a friend who mentioned about the hedge funds going snap us up from the stockwatch site, so I had to have a look and all I could find was about them shorting. I was sat in the garden of the Bluebell and it was empty, far too expensive now to attract punters.they've lost so many regulars will be difficult to get them back

There is a small item on the Stockwatch web site about Marstons referring to the hedge funds shorting them and Debenhams

last years divi was paid on 5th Nov. talk on here this morning being paid 5th Oct can't see it myself it's always been Nov. will they be slipping in another one in Jan that will be a nice present, doubtful but dream on :))

hi peter I been here a very long time and have had enough of dilution but this one is very different. as Leo said it's spread our risks to get a more even production flow so cash flow can be maintained. the lack of skilled labour and equipment on Trinidad is one of the real plus points of this takeover. Can you remember the rigs we had to put up with far too heavy and out of date, maintenance issues. we now have access to a top of the range rig suitable for the Swp

hi Jak sounds like a unit trust which they have to charge you a set up fee which is normally quite big. when I set mine up the set up fee was taken throughout the first year and the fund went negative now they can't do that and charge up front. the other fees are taken every 6 months by selling units or you can pay by direct debit. if you haven't got many units I would pay the fee. mine rose 25% last year and is medium risk fund, I would certainly recommend the global fund then you got no worries on Brexit issues

hi Jak you probably find units are being sold to pay the fees, that's what happens with my global investment fund with HSBC. my share account with them costs £10 /quarter cos I don't trade very often in that one
