Hi Helena. I'm waiting patiently for the half year report beginning of Aug, I'm hoping it's a good one and believe it could be. The market makers in London can't see what's happening outside the M25 housing going up everywhere. Construction reports showing its strongest growth for sometime must make them stop and think hang on a minute what's happening.

Buybacks to me are not the sole answer after watching the millions spent by BP and HSBC buying back the shares they issued for scrip payments. It hardly had any effect and both shares went lower. Getting rid of the scrip issues would be a start and then pay the dividends quarterly to reduce the volatility. Worst thing would be a consolidation I've always lost out big time on everyone I've been involved with This sector is being pulled lower its not just one company

In the drought of 1976 the biggest effect on buildings were the cracks appearing in walls and slabs, this led to an immediate change in the building regs to prevent clay heave. I can't remember another hot/dry spell like that until now although it's not as bad as then. Let's hope the changes to the regs work . My nephew is concreting house footings for Bovis at the moment so I told him to watch the quality control. Glad I'm not on sites anymore in this heat

When asked about which prospect he was more excited about GH said that was a difficult question cos Blackhills has been astounding to find gold at surface but Haveiron is exceptional and he is very excited at what they are finding :))

GH certainly shut all the traders up for now. They all disappeared at once, sign the dip has bottomed out. This is a great board when their not about.

Hi Tom. Not to panic this is just a dip. The traders will force it down to get back in, you will see it happen. Watching the videos again from last is very reassuring. I like the bit about a geologist could spend 40 years looking for what this company has found in a short space of time. Only volumes I'm interested here is under the ground, a poster from last week worked out the value of Haveiron volumes to be 24p a share from memory. Today's blip will be miniscule in time. Keep smiling :))

Morning Tom. The old adage of "sell on news" has happened here this morning a lot of hot money is coming in and going out. Traders were expecting holes 2,3, 4 to have separate rns and were clearly spooked, but they hadn't taken in the main message of that rns that RIO are getting closer. I'm topping up on the dips and expecting it to rise again today. ATB:))

Hi Londoner it doing ok for the drinking side but not the food. Don't think I be tempted to eat there again , quality isn't there. With this heat it's probably doing the same as most places

Hi Trent I would just look , it's clothes retailing not good sector to be in at mo. Try looking at GGP in to gold going to spike soon. Wish Marstons would hit on a gold mine seems stuck at these levels

My nearest Marstons is couple of hundred yards . Oh dear tempting :)) Seems that this world cup is a boon for some pubs, the ones that make the effort with big screens and things like chips at half time are the ones cashing in.

Hi Tom . It will be a good price I been buying just below that. Did you see some of the values people have worked out for it could be staggering. Found copper too with prices going through the roof at $12000 a ton. I wonder how the copper prices will impact on construction more plastic pipes I suppose. Out of the builders Barrett seems to be the best buy at the mo but I'm holding back funds for Echo in Argentina news keeps coming and coming. Have a great day

Hi Tom. I'm going to have to sweat it out till this evening off to the Rose and Crown by the river, beams are only 5'6" so sore head in the morning. This share has some really sticky holders only 3m sells today from 3.3bn. Some old work colleagues are sat on large holdings and still having the script allocations. In comparison to UKOG today where 10% sells already today heavily traded. I still of the belief that any down turn isn't affecting shareholders in the way some on here are portraying

Morning all, you all seem very downbeat today. I'm old enough to have worked through 4 recessions and various dips. From my experience this is not a recession it is a downturn brought on by Trumps manipulations, he won't stop until the time is right for him and everyone is going to have to play along, some will get burnt and some will make a fortune. Builders are always the first to go in to recession, I can't see any sign of it. There are 2 ways forward from here, 1 you wait and pile in to builders when they've bottomed out,2 find a market that's rising. I have gone into number 2. I'm quite pleased today 5 shares in the top risers , my little gold miner ggP quadrupled in a fortnight. Overall don't put too much in one share in a downturn, get out before a recession. That's my thought for the day. Have a good day do some research :))

Not been posting much this week can't stand these new pop up ads in the middle of the posts, but just been reading the business section of the Times. "The great summer mortgage war" the TSB among others are cutting their rates as lenders compete for borrowers ahead of expected interest rate increase. 2 year fixed rate 2.52% and 2.92 for 5 year averages. "Summer rate increase on the cards after growth upgraded" expected august or November "Households use savings to keep spending" household spending rose 1.2% last quarter weakest since 2012 FTSE clocks up it's strongest quarter for 5 years Home owners taking out equity release from property has fallen month on month since January. Hi calisto. I believe stock market rules prevent firms from buying back shares through borrowings to prevent fraud. Dividends and buy backs can only be made through profits earned by the company. All the best :))

In the pub last night a big topic was about the amount of building work going on everywhere. Think they were trying to get my opinions out of me but didn't say much, I'm fed up with them either side of me where I live and around the corner. Oh well put ear muffs back on :((

Hi Nige. Apparently that is another way of investing, in the stocks you don't like, so I should be into Bellway. Nah can't do it. Sorry they not In my good books. My friend told me tonight that our friend who went to buy a 5 bed from them and bought elsewhere was chatting to his neighbour and he did exactly the same due to poor sales staff. My posts keep disappearing and returning so things still not right with this site. ATB :))

Hi graham don't think that going to happen he's too clever to let that get out of hand. He going to push everyone to the brink and then sign a deal Worst thing is keep saying a recession coming, then it will come. Governments can't let it happen.
